The Tomlin boys are a hopeless bunch at this point. How any “fan” can watch this garbage and still defend him tells me it’s not about football anymore.

    What's this weeks excuse?

It seems like the roladex might be broken, as its Tuesday already.

Because your entire rebuttal has nothing to do with my post. I actually read about half of it. I didn't really stop after the first sentence. You're right, that was a catty retort. My apologies.
You don't have to agree. You and I never have to agree. My post that you responded to was how I saw those games, and what I think we will need to do to get a win vs the Colts.
I didn't mention any coaches, and fans feelings, none of that. But that was what your response to it was. So no, I don't think you understood my post at all.

I read the first word of your response and stopped.

And the other loss was against Bailey Zappe who had zero TD passes that season until he lit our defense up with 3 in the first half.

We are actually not playing our style, and I don't know why.
Are we trying to prove why we spent on certain players?
    Are we experimenting??
We are playing more man than ever, and it's killing us, and I can't figure out why.
Almost every big play in the last two games have come on man.

Well... Tom Brady/Patriots always picked apart our ZONE schemes. And Steelers kept running zone even though it never worked. The only way to beat the Patriots is how we did it in 2011.... Ball control, TOP with Mendenhall and Oline moving the sticks. Interior D line getting pressure on Brady to limit his picking apart of the zone D. I think Gronk was out due to injury, so that helped too.

Agree. However I am not thrilled with how softly we play zone. It doesn’t matter what zone coverage we’re playing, but we look to be overly focused on achieving depth - even for the underneath defenders. We seem (to me anyway) to concede the catch and then try to converge for the tackle. I understand that part of the zone strategy is to tackle the catch short of the sticks, and that’s great if you allow 8 yards in 3rd and 10, but not so great if you allow 8 yards on 3rd and 6… or on 2nd and 10.

That and the need to actually TACKLE the catch…

Agreed, but running zone would have taken away a bunch of the biggest plays we have given up the last two games. They have been sending a man in motion, and snapping the ball so our Defender following is getting caught up, and leaving a wide open man. The man is killing us, and too much blitzes. I don't understand why we are going so much against what we usually do. It makes no sense. It's like we are still experimenting, or trying to prove a point. I'm not understanding why. If You get beat at what You do best, I understand, but if You get beat at what You are not best at , why do it, and do it at such an alarming rate ???

Why indeed? And why did we stick with it after being gashed repeatedly?

This is what is puzzling me.
I know we always do different things, it's why I laugh when people say we continue to do the same things, and no game plan, but when it doesn't work they usually go back to the tried, and true to slow things down, and they aren't even doing that now. I'm at a loss.
