While football is the ultimate team game, they are certain positions more valuable than others.

The JB fourula is to match value with need in the given round.

And the following positions are key where NEED outweighs value in round ONE and TWO. If you don't have a top 12 NFL player on the roster, you need to draft one.

    1. Quarterback.

    2. Pass rusher.

    3. Offensive Tackle.

    4. Defensive tackle

    5. Cornerback.

We have great needs at Quarterback and Offensive Tackle and lack a top 12 player at each position.

If by JB formula, you mean the original Joel Buchsbaum, most of us are aware. The draft formula I said that I subscribe to is based off of what you suggest. Just add in, 'you can never have too many LBers', to that formula.

Chris Bell from Louisville is an interesting WR prospect. 6'2"-220 and runs a 4.4/40. Obviously still way too early.

So we're pretty sure the QB from OSU is not the guy. Then you go for the best QB on the board. But you'll have to fill me in on the last QB this staff has developed. I'll wait

Arthur Smith did well resurrecting Ryan Tannehill.

QB, WR, CB, S, ILB (im not sold on Wilson/Holcomb moving forward), IDL, Edge (depth assuming Herbig or Highsmith gets traded), G (assuming Seamalu retires or doesn't re-sign) OL depth, TE depth (assuming Muth gets traded)

Tons of holes that I assume Omar would fill via FA anyway

Let's say Howard is not going to be the starter, or the guy. We have Mason!
That means we can draft another QB late and not at the top of the draft.

Well, I was born with 1970's parts. I have been telling that to the Gen Z people. Make them do the math.:smiley1: That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I don't know what that means. My parents were baby boomers so whatever gen that makes me. I don't keep up with that, nor do the math.

Tom Arth did wonders for Justin Herbert.

Losing him would be just as bad. I wouldn't blame him though if he did leave.

The Titans made the AFCCG with Tannehill at QB, although Derrick Henry played a big part in that.

With 12 picks this is where you get some OL and DL depth and possible starters in the mid rounds.

I may do an early off season full mock draft and free agency period. It will be somewhat detailed and highlight our needs.

The $#^t is about to hit the fan.

FO really needs to be pro active in draft and open to roster/coaching changes., it is not working.
Let Weidl do his magic. Roster has to change. dead wood to purge.

Historically how often has trading premium picks to move up and draft a top 10 QB been successful?

I'm going to wait until the coaching carousel runs its course as I have to assume that we'll at the very least be adding two new coordinators. Who becomes the coordinators will certainly effect which direction they go with in trades/fa.

Looks like Leavitt is out for the year with plans of returning to school next year.
