watt is a really good player. Elite I’m not sure. He is being single blocked often now and not taking advantage of it.

The real frustrating part with the defense is that we havent even needed them to be great the past 2 games, we just needed 2 or 3 stops and they couldnt even muster that. The offense has been a pleasant surprise and the defense which was supposed to be the backbone of the team is maybe the worst I have seen un awhile, and I dont just mean for a Steelers defense.

He was.handed the keys to the Ferrari. All he had to do was not **** it up and let Cowher's coaches keep it on the track straight to victory lane.

Give it time, I’m sure someone will be along soon to say something catchy like “players play and coaches coach” to imply that our coaches are just innocent bystanders and have no role whatsoever in ensuring that the product on the field is successful.

Well, Barry Switzer won a SB just like Tomlin. So there's equivalence as I said.

Barry didn't hang around for a second go around. Tomlin did. It's debatable in either direction whether Switzer would have made another SB if he hung around for longer.

I guess I should rephrase and say that Tomlin didn't suck always, but he's just a more successful version of Barry Switzer.

The Tomlin dysfunction with personnel, on field coaching gaffes, and with hiring **** coaches was obvious to me by 2015. What took so long for so many? The Steeler mystique maybe? Well that’s gone forever thanks to:

Truly the greatest fraud in the nfl. Pretty crazy.

Austin is the scapegoat. The main issue is the man in charge. Until he changes, nothing will.

The only way for true change to happen is when Tomlin leaves on his own terms. A far bigger question remains though; what the hell will the team look like in 2027?! Time will tell.

There's no-one left to carry Tomlin, even Rodgers can't do it, Watt is in decline, and the defense is totally cooked. Ben's long gone, so is DLB and the old defense with Troy etc is long long gone.

Most overrated coach in sports History.

18 seasons, only 4 with a playoff win...

Only Art "Neddy Flanders" Rooney and the clueless media are keeping him afloat.

Mike Tomlin has led the Pittsburgh Steelers to the playoffs 12 times during his 18 seasons as head coach. He has won seven AFC North titles and made two Super Bowl appearances, winning Super Bowl XLIII.
    • And this is why non-Steeler fans can't believe I want Tomlin gone. Their not looking at the big picture. I too would think Tomlin was a good HC if I rooted for another team.

Exactly! I live down here in Dolphin land and most Fins fans talk about MT glowingly. I suppose I get considering all they have gone through the last 25 years.

This is why I think Watt can be traded. I think NFL coaches can see he still has great talent but isn’t being used effectively. That’d be different if he was in another team’s system.

I am afraid they do suck, the whole staff. Isn’t one coach or area that stands out. Should be a clean sweep.

    AMEN!

I liked Southern Cross, by Crosby, Stills and Nash, but they're complete idiots and want everyone to know it politically (hard, far left, not sensible left/center/right).

Video on youtube of some fans coming out of the concert pissed off. Why can't entertainers shut their knowledge-lacking pie-holes and just do what their fans are paying money to see/hear?

Hard right or left, doesn't matter, keep for interviews, but don't bring it up during your event please. The f'ing arrogance, thinking EVERYONE agrees with them and wants to hear their jibberish.

Sorry but I need to correct you on your comment.

It's not easy coaching a team to be 10-7 year after year. For a normal team you would expect the occasional overshoot to 11-6 or 12-5, or an undershoot to 8-9 or 7-10.

Well, maybe he called more back when Butler was here?

Anyway, I don't care who's calling them, it's an ineffective scheme. Green Bay runs a lot of 11-p with the TE running a route. So to be fair, only six rushers would be considered a blitz. The problem was the blitzes were ineffective at pressuring Love, and our five pass defenders couldn't keep coverage on their four receivers - given that, I don't know that it would have helped to drop eight in coverage.

Bottom line is we have some aging guys who may no longer be elite, but are still good enough to form a better unit than what we've put out there. If it's Austin, he shouldn't have been retained. This isn't a first under his watch.
