I happened to be in Rome for work on Oct 15. Decided to go to the steeler bar there since I've never been. I brought 4 people with me. Had my Steeler shirt and towel in tow. The bar is a quaint little place in a massive tourist district. Lots of Pittsburgh stuff on the walls. Was told the the owner was kind of hit or miss. I tried to get a pic with him but he wouldn't do it. He was kind of a jagoff to all of us. Anybody else been there? Thoughts?

Owner is not interested in talking

Each time I have a beer or two and then go

Been there many times, the owner is little weird, but nice to see a lot of Pittsburgh stuff in Rome.

I could easily see someone getting annoyed fairly easily. Think about it every Steeler fan that visits Rome goes in there and wants a photo etc. after a few thousand times he’s probably like leave me alone!

    Plus I’ve watched the guy

It’s a small bar he shows up very early stays very late and he is the only bartender so he is running constantly

On a side note he sat behind me for a Steelers game once so I met him briefly there

The guy who sits behind me is a pilot for AA and flies to Rome and he brought the owner over for a game and a Pittsburgh tour

But why make your bar a Steelers bar if you don't like mingling with visiting fans? You can still be a fan with just a plain ole bar. Just seems odd is all.

Heard of that place when I was on the road for work but never got a chance to visit. The bar’s enough for me I don’t need a PIC with the owner and you could prolly get plenty of PICs with patrons if that’s your thing.

    Go Steelers!

Actually I’m not sure it is a Steelers bar see below

From what I can tell he just puts up whatever people bring and Steelers fans tend to do that

Sure he has some Steelers stuff but he has stuff from a bunch of teams particularly college

Ah...I only had the title and conversation to go by since I've never traveled there.

My daughter did a semester abroad in Barcelona. When it ended, my wife met her over there. They traveled together through northern Italy and finished in Athens, Greece. They were in Rome for a couple days. Seems everyone has been there but me. I've never left North America.
