    fallen apart?

They started out CRAPPY and almost lost to the WORST team in the league.

then they SUCKED in the home opener.

They SUCKED vs. NE, but we were GIFTED 5 TO's (we were gifted, vs created them, IMO).

They played well in Europe - BUT AGAIN, almost crashed and burned in the 4th Q. They DOMINATED vs a HORRIBLE Browns offense.

We have NO IDEA if this D is Top 5 or only avg at best.

this i know - PORTER SUCKS! and Heyward had taken his money and ran......

    Equal time for the defense:

Why is it the Steelers struggle to get both offense and defense in sync?

Also, anyone else notice there was a league-wide uptick on yards and yards allowed the first bye week?

    most stats are STUPID.

you play according to what you HAVE TO DO to win.

just a dumb stat there, IMO.

We scored 31 on Thursday, the D BLOWS.

We scored PLENTY to bury the Vikes , early - almost BLEW CHUNKS b/c the D and Tomlin blow.

The trend was positive before the last game. They were missing significant pieces for those first few games. They gave up yards, but also made big plays against a very good Patriots offense. They did fade late, but overall played well against the Vikings. They did what they were supposed to do in dominating the Browns.

Thursday was the first time the defense played poorly with everyone healthy. That is why I question if it was a matter of a bad matchup on the road on a short week or are they just bad. It may be the latter, but I don't think we can judge that for certain just yet.

If it is only about winning, the Steelers are 4-2, so the defense must be pretty good.

They are 19th in points per game. That is a better indicator. Still not good, but a better representation of what they have been so far.

Yeah, Daniels has regressed a little this year on top of getting banged up early on. And McLaurin has missed I think four games now. The Ravens are missing Lamar, but they're defense has taken a significant step back from where I thought they'd be (though we're only slightly better in terms of yards allowed).

The Jags and Chargers have talent, but are inconsistent, similar to us.

I never suggested otherwise. I'm simply pointing out the foolishness of judging any one part of a team by the team's record.
