This is in 56 games, pointing to the fact the our strategy and game plans are weak.

    Our standard remains the standard.

This kind of stat does not mean much. Games are not won in the 1st quarter.

I`m glad the Packers won their game yesterday. They won`t be as hungry this week.

Denver is also glad.. They were shutout going into the 4th qtr, and then put 33 points on the board

I guess we know why Rooney decided to extend Tomlin and make him one of top paid HC in the league.

I just don't get how there is ANY Tomlin supporters at this point. We STILL hear on broadcasts how "great" Tomlin is and how Steelers have had 3 HC in 50 years or whatever. WHO CARES. It's one thing to have that and win Super Bowls, its another to have that and be blown-out and then mocked by the opponents afterward. We're only marginally better, the past 10 years, than the dregs of the league.

We'll conitnue to be a 7, 8, 9, 10 win team, getting destroyed when we do make the playoffs, because Rooney is 100% risk-averse. He's afriad to TRY and take the next step.
We desperately need a 13 loss season to wake Rooney from his figurative coma. I see annual afterthoughts now looking great because they took a chance to get better.
We're basically the Titans or the Cardinals now, never good enough to make any noise, rarely awful.

Lions sucked for a long time, now they're dominating.
Bears are suddenly looking like a contender, they too took a chance.
Will the Titans finally take a chance on an up n coming assistant or coordinator, or once again, go after an NFL retread, a Tomlin clone, a coach with a less-than-distinguised resume?

I dream of the day Tomlin is fired or retires and we are, finally, taking a chance, with some risk of being BETTER, being an actual contender and not a laughinstock.

Tomin would be more than acceptable if he'd get aggressive in finding a GOOD DC and OC and not puppets lacking any creativity or knowledge of the game. Because Tomin cannot or will not allow Steelers to get PROVEN OC or DC, he has to go, period.

That would be an interesting stat. How many 1st quarter possessions are they averaging?

    What is the NFL average?

Again, I contend this sorry defense has very few 3 and outs.

I agree our defense deserve some blame for that....especially for this year

Funny enough it’s actually the defense coming up short this season, not the offense.

But that is a putrid stat.

How often do other teams score more than 7 points in the 1st quarter?
