Dunno, I think the field looked worse after this game:

For all you people not familiar with PGh, The university of Pittsburgh is located in the Oakland section of the City of Pittsburgh about a 10 minute drive to North side where Acuisure stadium sits. Oakland is a very congested part of PGH. It is home to University of PGH Medical center. Many large hospitals are located here along with Carnegie Mellon University. Availiable Real estate is few and far between and is very expensive.
It would cost Pitt plenty to to put up a new stadium if any land would be available.
The Steelers and Allegheny County are fairly compensated for the use of Acrisure Stadium.Steelers maintenance crew has dropped the ball on this field condition of last week. Somebody needs to be reprimanded for the field condition.

Biggest problem is Pitt doesn't have the boosters with deep pockets that would want to fund a stadium.

The University of Pittsburgh, which shares Heinz Field with the Pittsburgh Steelers, also pays a fee for usage that comes in the form of a percentage of ticket sales (as opposed to a fixed figure), but takes home revenue from parking and concessions.

Keep in mind Pittsburgh ticket sales are low.

10 minutes is a bit generous.

Not the smartest idea then to tie it to ticket sales.

Is there a property big enough to accommodate there?

Flagstaff Hill would probably work but acquiring the property would be difficult and unpopular

Plus I don’t see Pitt coming up with the money

Pitt would probably get better attendance if they had a stadium near campus

But Pitt playing at Acrisure is not a problem or the problem

As long as a bird doesn’t eat the logic or I will get lost
In other news, I backed over and knocked a palm tree down today on the job site.
Can’t have nothing nice with me around.
Wife agreed with me on that one

I’d make fun of you but I was camping in a forest……

I looked out the left mirror of my pickup truck and there was a tree but I was ok and was going to miss it

I looked out the right mirror of my pickup truck and there was a tree but I was ok and was going to miss it

So with tailgate down I backed up

    Into the third tree

I never looked in the rear view mirror

The WPIAL Class 5A, 3A, 2A and A finals are Nov. 22 at Acrisure Stadium. This is the same as years past. The Steelers are not playing at home November 23.

Pitt played on the new field today and will play on it again November 15.

The Steelers will play on it twice between now and November 22.

In years past the field has been replaced immediately on the day after the WPIAL playoffs.

So why did they do it early and not maintain it as normal?

Are they going to going to replace it again after the 8 games in 29 days are played on it?

Just as an fyi a natural turf field can normally handle about 40 events of the football soccer magnitude a year. Soccer is worse than football.
