When is TJ going to move around on the Dline? Prior to his new contract he said he was willing to move to the right and to the middle a few times a game but he never does.

The Steelers made a huge mistake giving him that new contract. He is in decline and it is only going to get worse.

Why move him around? He’s comfortable getting chipped all day long.

Yeah seemed like loyalty pay. TJ is happy getting his bag, no career playoff wins and all.

It’s so frustrating and predictable. Teams know exactly how to play TJ now and dumb Tomlin doesn’t change anything. TJ would be a force if he came from different positions. BTW. Where was Heyward last night? This defense sucked in every way possible against the Bengals last night. I’ll bet the Bengals would want to play us again and again and again.

Mikes a stubborn ass. We do what we do. I think I read Bengals players saying they knew what we were going to do- I hear that a lot.

Tomlin sucks! He never has a game plan to attack teams different ways. The Bengals best defensive player was out last night. Steelers should have run the ball down their throat but instead get pass happy and try to win a shoot out against a QB that specializes in that realm.

Watt is one man..... the other 10 defenders have to make teams pay for employing extra blockers against him, and that isn't happening consistently enough

Watt used to be able to make plays no matter what opposing offenses did to him. Now that is not the case.

Much like Garrett, he took the money and ran.

True, but the other side needs to eat if in so Watt can't get there. Herbig had a quiet game. Did the overpaid Highsmith suit up? The D Line was overwhelmed with the all of a sudden great bungles O Line. The analysts were saying that the bungles had a bottom feeder run game and low and behold they had a banner day against us. Outcoached on the defensive side but Bags Tomlin the narcissist pined the blame on the offensive turnovers.

    The secondary:

it’s getting old when opposing teams with makeshift O lines look like the Great Wall of china, or a terrible run game team and prime Barry Sanders comes to play. Coaching definitely matters and teams exploit weaknesses. It’s up to the staff to adjust and try something different. Not get mad and double down on what you’re doing lol.

Yea, they don’t use the d-line nearly creative enough. Lots of talent there, but every play looks exactly the same. One-on-one (or two) needing to beat their man. If no one does, QB has enough time to let even a mediocre receiver get open (often wide open, not NFL open) against the soft, what often looks like prevent coverage. And QBs who get the ball out fast can feast on the secondary, and if they miss a tackle, big gain.

Our scheme had two DLs and two OLBs on many plays. That’s not a formula for success.

I remember there was a genius who use to roam this forum that said we should’ve traded him years ago.

Comparing injury history/production to his brother this was all so predictable.

What’s the point of having the DPOY with no franchise QB? I honestly believe a few years ago we could’ve got multiple 1st round picks for him.

This has become an issue with Pittsburgh sports. The fans fall in love with players and not winning Championships. The Pens are currently doing their last leg of their senior tour. Hyping up the longest trio in NA sports to play together. Which should’ve been broken up a decade ago… Crosby should have 6-7 Stanley Cups by now.

Right. And if Watt's extra contract costs us Alex Highsmith, I'll be mad

That's been our scheme for about 2.5ish years now. Our edges are pretty much DEs now.

Herbig and Sawyer are players… I hope we don’t let them walk…
