The OL balled out. Rogers did what he could do. We put up 31 against a ****ty defense. Should have been good enough. We did not pressure Flacco at all. Haven't watched the all 22 yet, but I didn't see many blitzes. IMO the plan should have been to bring the house often and make Flacco uncomfortable. Regardless, whatever they were doing in the first half, they should have changed it up in the second half. Didn't look they figured anything out at all.

 

Our offense took 4 points off the board with a holding call on a Warren TD run, then screwed up the tush push with a false start... Rodgers threw an inexplicable deep ball pick and then the other pick was just on DK not being strong enough on that catch. That DK play likely takes 3 points off the board. We could've been up 38-30 on that final drive, so I can't put all the blame on the defense. It certainly was the driving force behind tonight's suck.... but the offense takes a bit better care of things and we might be in a different mood on the board here tonight.

What do you mean they have not figured it out ? Millions for doing a lousy job of coaching and no game prep seems like mickey and his boys have it figured out pretty good.

That was an obvious hold on Warren's run. They were obviously offsides on the tush push. That's not taking points off the board. Great play on that DK interception. That's not taking points off the board. That's like saying you would have shot a 75 if you didn't three putt 9 greens. The defense lost this game because they played scared.

 

I'm going to get tilted if I stay on the board too long tonight lol Every year man. It's just so hard to trust teams coached by Tomlin. This week was just so important and to lay an egg defensively that bad is unacceptable.

Next week is going to be massive now. We gotta come back home and find a way to beat a good Green Bay team. Our next 3 games are against quality opponents. We gotta win 2 of them if we want to get this thing back on track.

That drive very clearly took 4 points off the board.

Unrelated note, I'd be just as mad at myself for ever shooting a 75 in real life as I am at the Steelers defense rn... So, love the golf analogy

No you are wrong. I guarantee Mike will win 9 or 10 games and we will either barely miss the playoffs or get boat raced in the WC round and draft 19th.

 

CIN was averaging 17 pts/gm. The Steelers defense allowed double that.

 

The coaching sucking? Been clear for close to a decade but we got that never had a losing season banner hanging with pride!

 

Most experienced bettors wouldn't have bet on the Steelers last night. They were coming off a short week after a division opponent, and have a big game against Green Bay next week. Was a textbook spot for a "trap" game, and it was...

Doesn't make me any less pissed off...lol

 

Tomlin needs to explain why he played soft coverage and Falcco ripped the Steelers for 342 yards passing. Dude is old as a cast off from the Browns. Don't give up 5+ yard cushions unless if is 3rd and 10+ yards.

He also needs to explain why he did not trust his offense on a day when they were scoring lots of points and elected to punt at mid field, down points late in the 4th quarter. iMO, he should have gone for it instead of putting it because the Bengals were ripping us. We gave up 470 yards that night.

 

More of the same, where is our epic defense we were suppose to have?

 

Our schedule get much tougher in the next games. We could free fall facing the better QB's. Judging by Flaco and Darnold we are in for it.
