Yes lunch for me changes as the season changes. Sometimes less for me to do, but always something to do. Been up since 4am.

well my meal has changed for today. we did the birthday thing last night, but my daughter in law texted me that a senior citizen center that is from a small community that she was from is having a fund raiser for a new roof. they had a soup fund raiser. i know a bunch of those older women from there so i got bean and ham soup, vegetable soup, and stuffed pepper soup. along with deserts, everything from pumpkin rolls to chocolate cake, banana nut bread, lemon cake, and you name it. homemade fresh bread, corn bread. i know it all will be good. my boys took most of that home with them. the soup though will be my meal. they had lima bean and ham soup, chili, tortellini soup, potato soup along with the 3 i bought. $6.00 for a quart of soup, bread and desert. not a bad deal to help them out.

Friday i took the wife to an old sawmill festival we had never been to. nice little day trip. this place was big with some really neat old log cabins, the old mill that was redone and operating, the cabins had old women sewing, quilting, operating old looms. tons of vendors with a lot of home made stuff. some of the coolest wooden stuff, glass blowing, blacksmith, stone, and plenty of food. we got a quart of ham and bean with cornbread that day to go. they had bar-b-que chicken, ice cream made on site, apple butter, apple dumplings, sausage, cheese and trail bologna, you name it. cool place. the soup was delicious as was the cornbread. hoping todays soup will be as good, which i'm sure it will be. go stillers.

Didn’t cook anything! My cousins came in to town and one of them made haluski (Polish variety) and brought it in from Cleveland. Now, I don’t have a single Slavic molecule in my DNA, but love the food. The haluski is now three days old and smells delicious! Stepping on my tongue, I am.
However, the downside is that faithful roommate may make me sleep outside, for air quality reasons, if you get my drift.

    If I get your drift

I have farm property that I let my dairy farmer neighbors use

Yesterday in a large field 50 yards from my screened porch they put down 90,000 pounds of manure

Hope they spread it well, too much will burn a field up. Most of our Dairy farmers have closed shop, out of the 50 I knew of , only 6 still are doing it.

They have a 90,000 gallon swimming pool for sake of a better word and when it’s full they hire a company with huge tractors and tanks and it is all sprayed evenly

And spraying makes it much more aromatic ;)

They no longer try to do a little at a time themselves except for one field behind my house which is only 4 acres and hard to get big equipment into

And that requires driving through my lawn and that equipment always leaks which my dogs enjoy

There are few dairy farms left here as well but they have a flock of grandkids and they all seem interested in continuing

They gave about 150 acres and lease 3-400 more from farmers who quit and my peanuts that I don’t charge for
