Joe was here in Phoenix for a signing last summer. He didn't look good, didn't sound good. He's up there in age, now, so I hope he's not experiencing serious health issues.

My all time favorite Steeler, was glad when he came back to work the Steelers front office. I think there are very few if any other players or x players who can say they own six Super Bowl rings. If my memory serves me right, four playing and two while working with the Steelers organization.

Mean Joe Green is the guy that turned the Steelers into the Steelers we know and love. Without him, who knows where our franchise would be. Easily the most influential Steeler in history

Is he the greatest Steeler? I personally would have to say so. I mean when the average PERSON and not just football fan thinks of the Steelers they think of Mean Joe. When we as Steelers fans think of someone ascending to Steeler greatness we always probably say "well yeah but they're not Mean Joe". When I was a kid one of the reasons I really started liking the Steelers was because I would watch the old NFL Films productions of Mean Joe tearing it up. I really think he's the guy that represents the true Steeler mystique and embodies EVERYTHING that we wish EVERY player signed to this franchise would also embody. There's really nobody even close. Only Jack Lambert can really be the only other person to ever be mentioned among Mean Joe. Just my two cents.

Now, almost 40 years later, there's still a marlin/tuna jig color combo known as the "Mean Joe Green". He's arguably the best known lineman ever! Good luck to him in the future!
