Bad Bunny

I know quite a few Puerto Ricans, and they love football , but I've never heard of this Bunny guy.
Edit: I have seen him now that I know, in a commercial with Eli Manning.

 

He plays Adam Sandler's caddy in Happy Gilmore 2.

 

Was he dressed up like a piece of shrimp? Maybe next week he can be an orangutan

 

They were a corporate backed well scrubbed singing group that was intended to keep the youth of America from becoming hippies, injecting cannabis, smoking lsd, and opposing the war in Vietnam. They were so bland that it didn’t work and corporate money slowly dried up. They eventually charged performers money (a LOT) to perform. Because of the political inclinations of NFL owners, Up With People played more Súper Bowl halftime shows than any act.
Eventually they allowed people of color and facial hair but it didn’t help. Up with People made Lawrence Welk seem like Keith Richards, and the Osmond Brothers seem like the Allman Brothers.
There is a pretty good documentary about them. Interesting history.

 

The halftime performers arent chosen for the listening pleasure of the boomers watching the game. The Nfl is trying to become a global brand and a performer like Bad Bunny has a massive global following, also Apple Music is a big sponsor and the NFL is going to promote the performers who are big on their sponsors platform. It is the same reason Kendrick Lamar was chosen last year for the Superbowl.

 

It's funny you say this. I play music, and I play music with a lot of 20 year Olds, and even give lessons, and they don't know any of his music, they just know him from TV commercials like I do. One said he didn't even know he was a musician, he thought he was an actor.

 

Ya, it's not like Rodger Goodell is sitting around going boy I really liked that new Bad Bunny album, lets put him in the halftime show. It is simply Apple music saying this is one of the biggest performers on our platform so we want you to put on Bad Bunny. And honestly I dont really have to know his music, the fact that he is critical of ICE makes him alright in my book.
