    For poops and giggles.

Detroit Tigers @ Cleveland Indians = Indians

San Diego Padres @ Chicago Cubs = Padres

Cincinnati Reds @ LA Dodgers = Dodgers

Boston Red Sox @ NY Yankees = Yankees

Sox/Yanks will be huge up that way. Happy for Reds, small market.

    Feel free to join in.

I'll go Cleveland. They've had Detroit's number all season.

    Yankees over Sox.

I'll go Dodgers over the Reds.

And, I'm taking the Cubs to be this season's Cinderella and beat the Padres.

    I would love a Tigers/Reds series.

I'd love that WS too. I live among the Philly faithful and they think this is the year. I told them only Pittsburgh held the SB title and the WS title. Of course it was 1979. Penguins and Steelers held the SB and SC at same time also.

I haven't seen a Phillies game all season. I do like Bryce Harper. He reminds me of the old school guys. Just a ball player.

Chapman just pitched out of a jam. Bases loaded no one out. Three straight outs. Glad to see an ex pirate doing well

I'm not aDodgers fan but I am a fan of Mookie and Freeman. I don't hate them winning the series.
I dislike Machado for the Padres, plus I never get to see the Padres play. Ever. Couldn't care any less about that team.
I'm still a fan of the BigRedMachine so the Reds are team I can root for.
The Cubs were always on tv growing up. I'm more a fan of that park than the team but I don't dislike them.
I don't really want either of the Yankees or RedSox to win the AL pennant.
I think Cleveland will win this series against Detroit, just because they owned them in the regular season. But to choose one, I'll root for the Tigers.

Well so far today is better. Game 3 for Indians/Tigers and hopefully Padres hold on for a game 3 tomorrow. Doubt Reds can even it up but it would be nice.

I don't have a vested interest in any team outside the Pirates. Every post-season I change who I root for but one constant is I root hard against the Phillies. I have to hear their fans constantly.

Guardians and Padres even up their series at 1-1. Rubber matches tomorrow.

Yankees/Sox going on right now. I think you're right about the Dodgers closing it out tonight. I'll find out in the morning.

Very cool except for the Reds. Have 3 do or die games today.

    Go Indians/Yankees/Padres

I happen to be a Phillies Phan. Your account is hereby suspended until further notice. :lolol:

If there's something to like about the Phillies' chances this year over the past few it's their starting pitching. Losing Wheeler was huge, but they've got three others in Sanchez, Suarez, and Luzardo that would qualify as top of the rotation guys on most clubs. Not sure if Nola will be leaned on much after missing the first half of the year to injury and battling rust through the second half.

They tend to be too streaky at the plate, but that's kind of the baseball playoffs in general. A team that gets hot at the right time is hard to take down.

Since I live here, I hear way more about the Padres than I care to. For years, the Padres were the farm club for MLB. About the only reason they didn't trade Gwynn is because he had a no trade clause. I don't like Machado either and I really can't stand Tatis jr. Punk is a hot dog who got suspended for 80 games! If he played in an earlier era, He'd be getting hit by pitches every other at bat!

Tony is one of my all-time favorite players. Even though I never really got to watch him play at all.
But I'm from an area where we had no local pro sports. Everything was from tv broadcasts and/or radio. The Sporting News would put out a baseball preseason paper that gave everything on every team. My friends, coworkers, and I would read that thing cover to cover while discussing who we thought was going to win it all.
It's a lot less work nowadays and I think we lose a bit of that connection with everything being readily available at your fingertips. You don't really have to 'follow' your team. You can just look up how they are doing at any time. I'm still a big fan but nowhere near as much a fanatic.

This time of year is really the only time I follow baseball. First game I ever went to was in '63 when my dad took all of us to LA to watch the Dodgers. Koufax was pitching. Been a Dodger guy ever since.

If the Pirates were like the Dodgers I'd follow all 162+ games closely. Since they suck I only follow the Playoffs now days. I'll be rooting hard for your Dodgers against the Phillies.
