I do think the defense is going to get better, but not until after the bye week.

Barring any injury this week, we should be pretty healthy by then.

However the scheme will still be bad. When our defense has third and long, I assume the opponent will convert.

I think we get blown out this week, maybe facing the best set of WRs in the league.

Of course people like but whats the motive here when there has never been a peep about any bad blood between them. If there was a history of fighting between them that would be one thing but by all accounts they have a great relationship. So he’s just going too flat out lie like that and then say it went back to the end of Lebeau days here as well, and no one called him on it? And then there are the beat writers who have confirmed that Tomlin calls the plays.

He even calls some plays on offense but not to the same extent. There is a video of him being asked if there are times during the game he suggests plays on offense and he said “I do more than suggest”.

For some reason you just dont want to believe it.

It's call video evidence, picture evidence, and audio evidence(unless you think they deep faking the sidelines om tv), what I've seen at games, what I've heard on wired up, and pictures vs One man's words, and a coach that always takes the blame no matter what, but Like I said, believe what you want. No skin off my back.

Which no one has posted! Just me posting a photo of him holding an index card :lolol:

I cant recall seeing Austin with those big play cards, I was looking for the camera to pick him up Sunday but never saw and shots of him.

But Ive explained that anyway, he could be holding the menu while Tomlin tells him what to order.

You’re the one believing that the DC is blatantly lying for no reason. You keep using gifs that fit your position on the topic

I guess this play sheet isn't big enough for you. Answer me this why in the heck would they go through all that deception to fool people? If Tomlin wanted to call the defense then he would just call it.

That one is pretty small too! :lolol:

You really think Tomlin needs that??? It’s his defense and it’s been relatively the same for at least the last 10 years.

There is no deception, maybe he just doesnt need the freaking card.

And seriously, that card right there, if thats the extent of the cards they are using compared to every other one I have seen could be why the defense gets called out for being simple and predictable and fits the narrative that Tomlin just relies on beating the man across from you. Theres no innovation or extensive game planning.

Did you just start watching football? Butler's and Austin defense aren't even close to being the same, maybe you should pay closer attention what you're watching. The local media has been talking about how the defense is different from last year, they're moving guys around more and they're top 5 in blitz percentage. Good grief I can't believe you actually think a coach can call a defense off the top of his head , this isn't flag football.

Oh yeah? Please, do explain in detail what has changed Mr Football? Don’t pretend to know X’s and O’s because you don’t.

By the way, you should know Ben just said on his podcast the defense is pretty much the same and not much has changed over the years.

Also, if you are a dinosaur like Tomlin that still believes in football from the 70’s then yes, you can call a defense off the top of your head.

Well, I obviously know more X's and O's than you if you actually believe the two defenses are the same :lolol:. In Butler's scheme the defense was a more aggressive blitz heavy defense but his ILBs got exposed in coverage, Austin's scheme is less aggressive but has better coverage schemes and he preaches getting the turnovers they're usually in the top 10.

Your belief that Tomlin just calls plays off the top of his head is the most clueless and embarrassing thing ever posted on here.

Yeah, from your extensive knowledge of the game, how would Tomlin ever call that off the top of his head :lolol:

wE DOnT BLiTz As mUCh ANymORe. Brilliant.

Nothing about sub packages, how much in dime, nickel or big nickel, when they use cover 3 or cover 2.That just scratches the surface, i dont pretend to have a coaching knowledge of the game but you Mr big brain football fan shouldn’t be calling out anyones knowledge of the game. Aside from it being a dick move, you clearly dont have a deep understanding of it.

Well the play card is just a basis for the days gameplay but as we know Tomlin makes his calls from the gut so he doesn’t need one

none are working very well. butler, tomlin, austin. i'm thinking that is austins fantasy lineup card. who exactly was blitzing in butler's blitz heavy defense if the ILB'ers were in coverage so much? asking for a friend. :hmm::cool:

I didn’t know if Holcomb would still be able to play at a high level but he got off to a good start. Hopefully he can keep it up.

These are things that will get sorted out in time and get the right packages on the field.

I was using Poe as more of a size/athleticism mold more than his game. Those guys to me are more DT's than NT's in today's game. I like having someone with Black's size in there and hope that as he progresses that he might get more opportunity in the middle.
