    I like it. Good post.

I don't think JJ is a good fit, I think he's the perfect fit for Pitt!

    In My Homer Opinion.

Mike Mayock okaying the Landry Jones pick makes me feel better. That dude knows his stuff (despite not getting the airtime of some of the airheads like Todd McShay).

    ben:

comp. att. percentage yds. td int.
    241-381 63% 3,105 21 2
    271-428 63.3% 3,238 22 11
    342-495 69.1% 4,486 37 10

    landry:

    261 449 58.1% 3,198 26 14
    405 617 65.6% 4,718 38 12
    355 562 63.2% 4,463 29 15
    367 555 66.1% 4,267 30 11

pretty good numbers. lots of wins. big time football. the kid is no slouch. if you can put up passing % in the 60's with that many throws, you are a good qb. the kids talented. these are to give the pick some perspective with our franchise qb's numbers coming out.

Was reading an article on BleacherReport today about Jones (4th round feeding frenzy) and there was an interesting stat for perspective.... 27.4% completion rate when he's forced out of the pocket (2 TD and 5 INT). Not sure how that compares with other "pocket" guys but it's pretty scary considering our o-line of the past several years.

most of those guys are gone now. whole new line that i would hope will be better.

he's not gonna hold it like ben either. that's one of the parts of bens game most qb's don't have. i'm sure there are alot of qb's that don't have great numbers when forced from the pocket. i for one liked him as a possibility here. even where they got him. i figured he wouldn't get by us if he fell to the 5th. they jumped in the late 4th.

i think he'll be better then grad, by the season and i like grad but for his flat out love of playing the game. he's a guy that likes to get out of the pocket and make things happen. at least in college.

i can't wait to find out though. let's get to camp already. LOL

To build on that. Remember, we're a dunk and dunk offense now... Not the Arians offense that makes the QB hang onto it for 10 seconds so your receivers can get deep.

If Jones can learn to read a defense and get the ball out, then he'll do well.
