Looks like we will not have to deal with Burrow either game. JJ Mccarthy is also out it looks like for Minnesota. If only we could get our **** together!!

I would have much rather faced JJ McCarthy than Wentz. He's been in the league for years and occasionally has a decent game.

McCarthy has looked shaky at best but still you would normally like playing a backup.

I guess that shows how bad our defense is when I'm nervous about facing Carson Wentz.

Reminds me of 2017 when Steelers were sandbagging wins against Colts, Texans, Packers without Luck, Watson (when he was good) and Rodgers at QB.

If you think the Steelers OL is bad, watch the Vikings OL vs Atlanta. Or watch the Texans OL

We need to stack wins against this poor crop of QB's in the next 4 games because after that we have Jordon Love, Justin Herbert, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson twice.

I’m not worried about Carson Wentz. I’m worried about Jefferson who can make any QB look like the second coming of Joe Montana

Backups are the Steelers Achilles heel. They immediately become Hall of Famers when they play the Steelers

It indeed looked really bad. Especially HOU. CJ was running around and had a hard time making throws. Of course there were drops and miscues but your right the OL looked terrible.

How many high draft picks or big free agency signing have those teams made in recent years at this position?

Makes it interesting to see if the Steelers try to deal out Skylar Thompson or Mason for a late round pick.
I doubt Mason, but maybe Skylar.

Especially when Howard can come back in a couple weeks.

What is the purpose for stacking wins? So that we can get back to a 9 and 8 season? LOL

I never want my team to tank, but I wouldn't mind to see their flaws exposed in a manner that will force some change. If we beat a bunch of easy teams and get back to a winning season with no playoff success, we're going to hear all kinds of things about how Mike Tomlin is such an awesome coach and how he managed to pull out another winning season despite all of his injuries on the team,....blah blah blah.... Same song and dance.

It's like the Steelers take six days off because they're writing off a team with a backup quarterback.....

None more than Mike Glennon. Most of his career wins were against the Steelers.

Some other notable HOF performances by backup QBs against a superior Steelers team... Ryan Mallet, old Michael Vick, Bruce Gradkowski, Bryan Hoyer.

And one never knows if those QB's will be standing by the time we play them.

What pisses me off is I feel we will win 100% and it's frigging demoralizing when they kick our ass.

Mike Glennon won only 7 out of his 40 career starts but he was 2-0 against the Steelers.

Another interesting fact... Cam Newton and Jake Plummer were undefeated vs Tom Brady/Patriots. Plummer and Newton were legit franchise QBs.... Glennon was not.

Plummer knocked out Patriots and Brady, so Steelers could win the Super Bowl in 2005. This is what my brother tells me (Cowboys fan). Told him we beat Plummer/Broncos pretty handily in AFC Championship game.... something Brady couldn't do that year. :lolol:

    Fortunately, we're not the Browns.... yet. But it is scary how the fortunes of a franchise can turn on a single bad decision;

"Meanwhile, in Cleveland, the Browns have played nine different quarterbacks who have combined to throw 65 touchdowns since Cleveland moved on from Mayfield after the 2021 season.

Because the Browns are still trying to find a quarterback who can play as well as Mayfield, there are still going to be questions and stories about why the team simply had to move on from a player they selected No. 1 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, led them to the playoffs, and energized a fan base from the first time he stepped on the field seven years ago today.

It turns out that the Browns would have been fine keeping Mayfield despite a rough 2021 season, when he played through a shoulder injury that ultimately required surgery. But the prospect of acquiring Deshaun Watson was too much for the club to pass up.

That is according to the latest from cleveland.com’s Terry Pluto, who talked about how Mayfield’s tenure with the Browns came to an end:

“I was told by two high-ranking people had they not gone after (Deshaun) Watson, they would have stayed with Baker. See, they became obsessed as an organization with Watson. They didn’t care that he sat out a year. They didn’t care that he sat out a year after signing a four-year contract.

“(The Browns) probably just kept watching those tapes of 2020 when Watson led the league in passing yardage and was in the Pro Bowl, and dreaming.”

Of course, those dreams of Watson being the savior have been nothing but a nightmare, which has the Browns still figuring out what to do at the game’s most important position.

It has been four years since the Browns parted ways with Mayfield, and his success in Tampa has only continued to fuel the “what ifs” about the situation."
