A lot will happen between now and then.

I believe Horwitz was on a 1 year contract. I think that Reynolds would be better suited to first base. He is an average outfielder at best. And that’s being charitable.
Gonzalez at 2nd. Devanney at short. Triolo at 3B. Davis/Bart catching. Cruz in CF. God knows who in LF and RF.

The Pirates seem to have too many futility infielders and not enough outfielders.
I won’t even go into starting pitching. They have a bunch, and it will be Skenes and whoever doesn’t hurt their arm.
We haven’t even seen Barco yet.

I just hope we have the same good pitching and PLEASE BOB, get a hitter. Just a few minor adjustments and this could be an over .500 ballclub.

We might have the Cy Young winner and I think he makes league minimum until the 2026 season is over. Then comes arbitration when Bob will trade him for money and some HS kid who looks promising.

Horowitz has two years of control pre-arbitration (low salary). I would be surprised if he is not part of platoon at first for at least those years. Somehow they need to find some power. Maybe Triolo at SS and find a 3B. If Cherington is back does he bring Pham back? I am not optimistic about the offense.
