    Want to make this about the impact on the NFL / football and not the politics.

    I'm sure we all notice that the NFL is basically brought to use by pharma ads (mostly for ED meds it seems to me).

    New executive order says pharma companies have to disclose all side effects (apparently back to late 90s rules)...which they said would make pharma ads 3-4 minutes long.

    I've seen people talking about how it will be the end of cable news. But it got me thinking about the NFL (and other sports leagues).

    I was wondering if it might be the end of how football is currently broadcast and if it might have medium to long term implications on league revenues (since so much money comes from TV deals and those come becuase the networks and streaming services sell adds...and pharma companies have to be the biggest buyer of ads).

    What do you think? Will the league be upset about this decision? And do you think we could see the cap flatten (or even decline) in the medium term?

    Mods: I'm not trying to make this political, but if you think it's too far in that direction, I'm fine with having the thread deleted.

    Let me make 2 points;
    1) Executive orders are not laws, despite what the past 3 presidents have been able to accomplish because do-nothing congresses are afraid to fight for the power that was given to them by Article I of the Constitution (please note that article I precedes Article II and that was not by accident).

    2). Won’t we just be back to someone speed talking through the side effects while the people shown on screen are all laughing and smiling (even as the voice over is telling us able the risk of uncontrollable diarrhea)?

    Please note this is also not political as I painted 2 democratic and 1 republican president with the same brush. it is however political in terms of my disdain for our law makers who refuse to make laws.

    Probably better fit in General NFL forum or even Watercooler if at all. But, money is and always will be the motivation and winner when the corporate world is in charge.

    This is
    Holy ****

    the networks pay the nfl a lot of money to air the games. In turn companies(including the boogeyman big pharma) pay the networks big money to air their commercials. Nothing more nothing less
