This thread worked well. Jets D must've looked at this and spent all their time trying to shut Wilson out leaving room for all our other receivers obviously.

He's still working to 'get on a moving train'... from last season. :huh1:

It’s tough to get on a MT Movin Train once that baby starts barreling towards 9-8. You just can’t stop it!

    Apparently not for Gainwell.

He was in for 10 plays, and 0 targets. I didn't even notice him on the field. Tomlin talked him up like he was doing great, so I had hoped to see something from him.

You should've said Calvin Austin instead of Wilson you would've been spot on.

    Receiver targets ended up being:

14 targets at the wide receivers
9 targets at the tight ends.
6 targets at the running backs.

On the depth chart, that looked like this for ranking in order of pass targets:
    2, 1, 5...... Metcalf 7, Austin 6, Skowronek 1
    2, 1...... Smith 6, Friermuth 3
    2, 1....... Gainwell 4, Warren 2

The primary targets in each category were not on the roster last year. It's only one game, so I'm not reading anything into it. I expected Metcalf to be getting the Lion's share. I would have thought Friermuth would have seen a little bit more action. And I'm really surprised that Warren did not get more touches.

This is what happens when you go two seasons needing a #2 WR, and don't get one, suddenly Roman becomes the second coming in some people's eyes.

Only one game but with the TE sets and Austin looking like he locked down WR#2, probably wont be a lot of opportunities for Wilson.

Sure seemed like he was primed for a bigger roll in preseason though. We’ll see but his vanishing act in the first game and not being used when healthy last year down the stretch doesn’t bode well for him.

Just not enough playing time for him if CA 3 plays that well.

Get that face palm out of here. Drink a cold one to celebrate our little buddy CA 3.
