Official Gameday Thread Steelers at Jets

The first time both the starting offense and defense has seen the field and we got the win? I’m good with that.

 

I think a few glasses of wine are needed after suffering through that game.

 

So do I, though I see the concerns about Metcalf's hands.

The defense was just terrible in this game. Remember, the Jets weren't a great running team last year and they just lost their best interior offensive lineman a few days ago. Benton was worthless today. So were the inside linebackers most of the game. Wilson and Queen were constantly taking themselves out of plays or getting fooled on stutter-step moves by the Jets' runners. I know Hall is good, but damn, Queen is supposed to be better than that.

They do miss Elliott, but the Jets were gouging them even before he got hurt.

Jones was terrible, but both tackles sucked.

Warren was on the sideline way too much today. Gainwell is not good. They'd better hope Johnson is ready to contribute heavily at some point this season.

 

We have deficiencies but 1-0 with a road win - Take the dub and move on to week two!

Brady didn't set the bar very high, but I do like JJ Watt as a color commentator. He knows when to talk, when to shut-up and his voice isn't annoying.

 

I think some of the starters are not in game shape as most didn’t play in preseason. Time will tell.

 

Jets have a great D and offensive weapons….had some bad luck last couple years but they’ll be there in the end

 

Just saw a BS holding call first snap of the Houston game.

 

They didn’t play like a bad team

Rodgers plays like that all season it will be fun, but RB Warren is not a starter he was just fine at what he did, no running game will be a problem soon.

The old golf saying is “there’s no pictures on the scorecard”. It doesn’t matter how it gets done, just win.

now, the defense needs to be A LOT better. Fields played a really nice game, but we made it too easy in a lot of instances. Was really encouraged by the offense though. Jones had a bit of a rough game with a couple big mistakes, but we scored 34 points and got the points when the game was on the line.

 

If our one-legged offense can put up 34 against the Jets’ vaunted defense then I feel good for the remainder of the year. Now let’s get our D in game shape

 

Haha yeah that would be better, but I can barely breathe as it is. Good job on the working out, I’m starting to work on my health big time. I let diabetes wreck havoc too long.

 

Metcalf is really a 2 receiver. Plus Sauce was on him and he’s really good. And shaded by the safety most of the game because the Steelers do not have a second receiver.

 

Couldn't watch. Was Roman Wilson on the bench?

No. He actually saw some good game time today though by how much in terms of snaps, I am not sure.
