Stupid Canada should know that he is not the best blocker and use him over the middle. Just chip and go. Should have kept Gentry.

He is signed through 2024. I can see him moving away from this dumpster fire unless their are major changes.

I heave a heavy sigh when it comes to Pat.
Washington had a really, really good TE whose name is slipping me now, when he was playing he was unstoppable.
But he was always hurt. They even still gave him a nice contract after his rookie one and he promptly played only a hand full of plays and was out for the season.
They cut him, he went to NE? and last barely through camp as I recall. Now he's bagging groceries or something.
Pat brings no value to this franchise when he spends so much time on the couch watching the games.
TE's are supposed to be rugged. Pat is not.
I like the guy, I recognize his talent but he's not on the field when I need him to be.

 

Pat, unfortunately, even when healthy is not considered a great TE.

Welp. Jonnu Smith is questionable also. Time to see Darnell Washington run over some people. Maybe Connor Heyward can prove me wrong. Now is the time step it up. Use Connor like they did in 2023 and not waste him like 2024.

Pat only was really injured and missed multiple games one year in his career, he has gone over 60 receptions in three out of his four seasons.

 

This could have been a great year for him, Rogers does throw to the TE.
Not much trade value in him.
He is signed through 2028 but his cap hit when cut isn't awful.

 

But he is always dinged.
He does have some talent but could be so much better. I viewed him similar to Kelce who is always around 100 catches.
I don't think is hard to say that he's fallen short of expectations, especially as a Steeler TE.
Smith might be the guy and we could always draft better.

 

He's not injured. This is why I said the guy who brought this old 2023 post back out should be caned publicly for making people think he's injured.
