This is a picture perfect example of how not to hold a football when you are being tackled

 

Just saw a replay of our regular season away game against the Oilers in 1978. Very satisfying watch. We won 13-3 in a brutally defensive game that had a number of injuries.

Just reminds me how much things have changed.

 

Those games with the Oilers were always slobber knockers

Ben had an incredible record of 166-82-1. He holds many NFL records but the best is he has the record of playing 18 years without having a losing season. No other QB ever did that not even Brady.

After getting Hanratty's autograph on a Notre Dame pennant in 1966, last month in Butler I got him to sign a Steeler football for me 59 years later. He lives in Connecticut now but comes back a lot in the summer to golf with his old HS buddies. That 1964 Butler team was one of the best in the nation and his HS teammates are still his best friends.
