.... as an announcer for the NFL to make this concession:

NFL makes major Tom Brady announcement ahead of Week 1

The NFL made a major decision regarding Tom Brady's access to NFL teams this week, just over a week before the 2025 regular season gets underway. The "Brady Rules" will no longer be in place.

The NFL will allow Brady to participate in production meetings with coaches and teams this season, after he was not allowed to last year, according to The Athletic.

Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox to be their top TV game analyst in 2024. However, because of his minority owner status with the Las Vegas Raiders, the NFL did not allow Brady to participate in production meetings with teams in his first year of broadcasting.

Tom Brady will be allowed in production meetings in 2025
With Brady not allowed to have contact with the teams he was broadcasting each week, it put more work on his broadcasting partner. Play-by-play broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt would go into each production meeting and relay all the information back to Brady.

Broadcasters get all kinds of little nuggets of information from teams during those meetings to help them prepare for the game broadcast. It could be schemes they've been working on, unique stories about certain players, undisclosed injury concerns and more.

There was a shift that came last year when the NFL season reached the Super Bowl. Brady's ban was lifted for the most important game of the season, and he was allowed into the production meetings ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles matchup.

Although Brady will be allowed to attend production meetings with teams this season, he still won't be allowed to attend practices. With Brady's involvement in the Raiders' organization, it creates a sticky situation for everyone involved.

There's obvious reasons for the limit to Brady's access to other teams, but it also takes away from his ability to broadcast at the highest level and puts more leg-work on his partner.

Brady will debut in his second broadcasting season on September 7 as the New York Giants take on the Washington Commanders, and his first spotlight game will come in Week 2 for the Super Bowl rematch between the Chiefs and Eagles.

Does anyone watch a game because of who the announcer is? I watch for my team. I could put the TV on mute and would enjoy the game just as much.

A thread about Brady on main Steeler page is sacrilegious.

The NFL has a responsibility to protect the integrity of the game. Giving access to an owner of an NFL team seems kind of a little bit like the fox being allowed into the hen house. I don't see why the NFL feels that they have a responsibility to help a network broadcaster be better at his job.

We don't because we are fans of a team, but I've seen at bars guys who are just fans of fantasy, and do watch games by match-ups, and announcers. It hard for us to understand because we are Steeler fans, and would watch whomever called the game.

I’m sure Brady wouldn’t use his access to cheat. Oh wait…. He absolutely would.

Tom Brady's popularity extends beyond being a player. He is well like by Roger Goodell, and is likey freemason type of guy. He might get into politics once he leaves the booth. The man is well connected in business at the upper level.

I get the sense he is not telling everything to the audience and is holding back what he knows about his version of winning.

But he won't tell viewers that. No-no, it's a secret

Memories fading for me, but as I recall it was an NBC game played on a Saturday, perhaps one team was the Jets? Hard enough to watch the Jets, having no announcer talking about Madonna should have been a blessing, but alas nothing could help the Jets. LOL, now watch me be wrong on the team.

The whole thing sucks, he is a minority owner, who has been given a lot of power by Madden. That in itself is fine, Art Rooney listed as the speaker of the Steelers (the one who gives official word to the NFL) can designate minority on the team to what position or authority he desires, but taking that job in conflict with other NFL responsibilities (broadcast included) is not something I would agree to as another owner. Tom also is now a minority owner in some British/European football (soccer) organization. When talking to a meeting of local town folks he spoke about building the team up so then can move and sell it, lol.

Tom Brady as a brand and it is himself. He is too squeaky clean and backed by several people of real power.

By the way I think Rooney will sell the Steelers some day, and if he does then his ancestry will be rolling over in their graves.

He should name the stadium Art Rooney I stadium as he is the chief.

But he is a sell out.

How might buy the Steelers??? Do not put much stock into what I am about to say, but Elon Musk ..a man who could buy all 32 teams. And he is a Steeler fan.

would he sell (or the family)? Quite possibly, unless a family has massive cash holdings its is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain this level. Yes a team may be worth billions on paper, but the actual cash needed to operate is high. It pays well every year, but the amount needed in operations, putting guaranteed incomes in reserves (from what I understand pays no interest), is extremely difficult to manage. The shared revenue is one thing, but some teams generate massive income that smaller teams cannot match.
