The Steelers are going to be a winner because this trade makes the Cowboys worse, and they get a better third round pick from them.

I think this trade puts Green Bay in the top 3 teams in the NFC.

What makes this trade even worse Dallas traded Parsons to a contending team in the NFC , this would be like if the Steelers traded Watt in his prime in 2021 to the Bills because they didn't want to pay him.

And the Cowboys have lost 3 times to the Packers in the playoffs since 2014!

I think its reasonable for both sides. However, I am not certain that the Packers are Parsons away from winning it all. They have a decent enough team, but their weapons are a bit lackluster (unless Golden is a huge hit). It makes sense for them though because they don't really have any players coming up that have big contracts on the horizon. They paid Love, they paid McKinney, now they have a 4-ish year window that they are trying to get the SB. We will see how it pays off.

I like the return for Dallas, but it definitely hurts to lose arguably your best player (CeeDee Lamb might be as good or better). But, if they don't want to pay Parsons that $47 million price tag, then I don't blame them for moving on. They already pay Love a boatload and Lamb top dollar for his position. They risked having too much tied up in cap. Two additional first rounders could net them the capital to get a QB if they wanted, or it allows them to spend on someone like Pickens and go the Bengals route of having the high powered offense and hoping to hit defensively with those 4 first rounders the next two years. They likely won't get another Parsons, but 4 good players could be more beneficial to the team than 1 great one. We will see how it pans out.

I could live with the return if I was a Cowboys fan, but I can understand why they'd be a bit salty over the trade. Packers fans should be excited, even if the move is a bit risky.

I checked optimistic, but not in the derogatory sense.

That's a tough division and whomever comes out of it will be dangerous.
I remember the "Black and Blue" Division. :)
For GB, they go as far as Jordon Love takes them.
He needs to step it up this year.
As far as ceilings go, I would take him all day over Hurts.
So Jordon should be able to steer this team into the playoffs.

Dallas with Micah wasn't a playoff team. They can't run the ball or stop the run. Dak is a mediocre QB whose stats are pumped by garbage time.

This trade could relegate the Cowboys to the NFC East cellar and elevating that Third Round pick. I will be cheering for them to lose every game this year. :)

These contracts are getting completely out of control. Gonna need to talk to my boss about a giant pay raise in order to enjoy any future entertainment.

Because I don't believe they are a M. Parsons away. Just like I didn't believe the Bears were a K. Mack away. I'm not sold on the Qb like a bunch of you are. He's had one good year, and one ok year.

1st thing I thought was.....this is probably the demise of Dak, and they will be going for a Qb.

I don't think, I know GB paid too much. They will regret giving away those two first round picks (even if they are the 31st picks). Parsons has eleven weeks of being nicked up in the last four seasons.

Also really makes you wonder, because J. Jones is , and has always been known to pay his players, even if it takes awhile.....Why did he decide not to for M. Parsons???

I don’t think Jerry and Micah got along at all. He referred to him as Michael in his news conference about the trade. I doubt that was just a slip of the tongue. Now he is going to deal with G.Pickens who might have the IQ of a gnat. Cowboys will probably stink this year but man they will have plenty of draft capital for the PGH draft party.

Welp, if you believe the stories, JJ met Parsons personally to discuss his contract (against NFL rules) back somewhere around March. According to JJ they supposedly came to a 'handshake agreement' on a contract. Parsons said nothing was signed and that he would have to discuss it with his agent. After said discussion, things went dead silent. JJ apparently was miffed that Parsons was reneging on their handshake agreement. He refused to meet with Parsons' agent on the matter. And that was that.

    My point exactly.

Jerry isn't as cooky and dumb as people are making him out to be. He knows that trading Parsons was going to set him back for 2025. As he sees it though, Dak isn't the answer.

Therefore it is likely Jerry believes 2026 will provide him with one. Will he be right remains to be seen.

Mack had a huge impact on the Bears defense, a big reason why the Bears were able to make the playoffs twice with Trubisky. If Trubisky had been a franchise QB, the Super Bowl would have been a possibility for them, but of course it wasn't the case. Mitch wasn't good, of course.

Parsons will help the Packers a lot, and if Love takes the next step, the Packers will be a Super Bowl contender. The Packers were 11-6 last year with a very young team.

Pittsburgh was already a winner long before the Micah Parsons drama. T.J. Watt already got signed. As such, no further deliberation was needed on Pittsburghs end to seal the deal for Watt.

It also helps that AR II stays out of his own GMs way.

There recent approach has been interesting. Someone on FSR said the new President in GB is the son of a former 49 GM, was not afraid to take big swings. I don't think the pack is that far off and if this gets them there it will seem like a sweet deal, but the window can close very quickly when that CAP hit shows and no high draft capitol to replenish.

One guy said here "he is not that good", well Defensive Rookie of the year (and 2nd that year as D player of the year), 4 pro bowls and 3 All Pro selections in 4 years. That alone puts him in elite company. It may blow up in GB's face, in my eyes insane money for a non QB player, but he is elite.

The best thing going for us Cowboys haters (which I assume is every Steelers fan born in the 1970’s at least), is Jerry Jones the GM.
The $$$ value of the Cowboys is meaningless to me as it does not impact my life in any form. However, the Cowboys not being good is meaningful to me. So let Jerry increase his team’s notoriety and $$$ value. As long as he keeps screwing up personnel decisions, they will lose and I will find a little joy.

In fact, I hope same thing occurs in every team in the NFL that is not the Pittsburgh Steelers. I hope all the owners care more about notoriety than winning, the Rooneys excluded. Sports is a zero sum game and the loss to another team is the Steelers gain.
