The Bears are paying Tyler Bagent(sp) over $2M per season more than the Steelers are paying Mason Rudolph, plus incentives. I don't have anything against the Bears paying whatever they want to pay their guys. Just checking the temp on here regarding this story about an unproven guy gets a big bump in pay for practicing well.

People getting mad about Cam wanting more money is silly to me. Heyward still is, by far, their best IDL. Whomever is a close second at this current juncture.... isn't a close second. Cam has far more leverage here than others believe.

 

The optics looked bad because he just signed a deal last year but agreed until he actually sat out a regular season game much ado about nothing.

I do not understand why people are still asking Tomlin if Cam is going to play in Week 1?

He was seen at practice in pads last week, and now that the regular season is here you think he wouldn't be able to do a Hold-In during the regular season.

I don't think I have ever seen a player holding out attending regular season games and still getting paid. Would there be any reason to have Cam on the sideline if he is refusing to play in a regular season game? Send him home, tell him he is not getting paid this week, and then ask him for some of his bonus money back for that weeks game.

 

He already got paid that’s the issue. His weekly checks would be minimal and apparently the Steelers have no recourse in going after the money he has received. I read he has gotten around 90% of his money for this year up front. He would only be forfeiting around 100 k a week. That’s pocket change to Hayward.

You mean as in incentives? Pretty common thing. Either they asked for it and got refused, or didn't ask for it. Who knows?
