By the way, Najees best ypc was 4.1.

    Bus had:
    4.9
    4.5
    4.4
    4.8

He played 13 years to Harris 4 and his final seasons dragged him under 4.0. But other than that, yeah good comparison

And Bettis was the best short yards back in his era!

It's not as laughable as you claiming Kaleb is better than Najee after playing two preseason games :facepalm:.

Exactly. It may be the silliest thing I have ever seen said here. Thats serious serious fanboy vibes.

Harris was a complete disappointment as a first round pick and people here acting like hes a HOF.

Definitely not good value for a first round pick. Not a complete whiff like Cleveland did with Trent Richardson.... but Harris is good enough to be #2 RB in the NFL for at least 4 more years.

In defense of Steelers, Etienne was picked right after Harris... and he wasn't much better.

Have to give You that. I can't remember a really bad OL while He was with us. Maybe with the Rams, I can't remember.

Come on , let's not act like he sucks. He has played behind some terrible OLs, and with some terrible Qbs, to say any different is a lie. You know it, I know it, and everyone that watches football knows it. No He is not the Bus, but about 97% of the RBs that come through the NFL are not of the Bettis caliber.

I think there are only two members in that fan club

And one still thinks the Steelers should have used the fifth year option :dontknow:

I agree, if he were a 3rd rd pick no one would be saying anything about him but as a first rd pick, you have to hit a HR.

Many people here were against taking a RB in the first rd and they were right. I honestly can’t remember where I stood on drafting Harris other than the fact I liked him better than Etienne.

I've always thought it was stupid to take a Rb in the 1st, but once he was taken, I was behind him 100%, and I still think he was a better overall rb than Warren, but now I hope, and pray I was wrong. Steelers fan 1st, and foremost. So I need Warren to be way better

I was a Harris defender for the first 2 seasons. Very likable player, plays hard, good interviews, would be a good face for the franchise. I used to make the same arguments for him that you guys are and the same arguments against Warren that his detractors do but after a while I came to believe I was wrong and had it backwards.

It’s still a silly comparison for reason already outlined.

Harris didn't have a good OL his whole time with the Steelers, let's see how the current RBs do when there are no holes to run through .

Putting Harris in the same sentence with Bettis was a mistake

Not at all. You just said he struggled and his second preseason game was more efficient than nearly 3/4's of Najee's starts... And if it takes 16 carries a game and a fully healthy 17 game season for Johnson to barely get 1,000 yards, I won't be that impressed with him either.

Nothing matters until the real games start anyways. Besides, Warren is the starting back.

Warren played with the same line Harris did and was more efficient.. I am sure this year's backs will be just fine.

The whole league was unimpressed. In a league where Rhamondre Stevenson and DeAndre Swift can get multi year contracts at $8m+, Najee gets $5m on a one year deal.

The option was affordable but still higher than market price for his abilities. It was $2million more than all 32 NFL teams were willing to pay for him. I don't understand the whole conversation. It's not like he's complete garbage.... He just isn't that useful. It's not impressive that he got 1,000 yards every year in a 17 game season where he was essentially force fed opportunities... It is, however, quite impressive that with his high usage that he was never hurt. Gotta give that one to him.

It's ridiculous for you to mention his YPC in a preseason game to try and dig at Najee, nobody is game planning in a preseason game and he's going against scrubs .
