Steelers Bucs Joint Practice

Some good, some concerns:

 

So during the two minute drill, the Bucs drove down and scored a touchdown and the Steelers did not get one first down. Maybe now Tomlin will quit telling everyone how historic this defense can be and the offense realizes how much work they need to do. This team doesn't need false confidence. Again. Tomlin says he's sitting most of the same people he sat in game one of the preseason. Seems like the first teamers need to start playing together in real games ASAP. Even for one series. They need a reality check.

September is looking to be a disaster. We can only hope Steelers do what they did in the Cowher years.... start slow and play well during November and December.

 

schedule are not in our favor in december with ravens twice,bills and lions....

 

Thought same thing. I remember a few starts that had me seeing visions of sugar plums only to suck big time second half. Now, imagine this board if we do have a slow start. #1 thread will be, Tomlin must go.

 

A lot of things can change before that back half of schedule. Now, I'm not one to wish injuries of key players on teams we have to play but I sure won't be crying for them.

Funny, I'm still having trouble thinking of he Lions as a force. I'm hoping they become the good old Lions when we play them.

Yea just like last year they cannot afford to start out slow. If those teams have something to play for 1 win could be very difficult.

 

The real secret is....'How do we get to 9 and 8'? lol

 

LoL. A preseason practice, and now we are doomed. Not the person reporting, or any of the people watching know what each coach of either team was looking for on each rep, or trying to see, and I guarantee they aren't giving anything away that they will use during the regular season during a joint practice.

Remember one thing about this update; it was a joint practice, ie. the plays are controlled by agreement between the teams.

For example, the Bucs blitzed a ton during the afternoon. This could be because Tomlin requested it and wanted to test his young OL. The Bucs also played a bunch of 3 WRs again likely at the request of Tomlin to test his secondary.

The goal for both teams to is test for their weaknesses (and strengths) to see what they need to really work on. Now, having said this, it seems the results were very much mixed. As Tomlin likes to say..."a work in progress".

 

That is cool.....I had no idea that the teams work together to that degree. I figured they show up and work at what they want to work at while the other team is doing the same thing at the same time. I did not know that they actually ask for specific looks to work on things.

 

Here they want to know if the Steelers will change their plans on resting the Starters for all preseason, because of how bad they looked yesterday in the practice against Tampa's starters.

Tampa announced after having such a good practice against the Steelers, that they would be sitting their starters.

Mike Tomlin has a 'secret sauce' that will get the Steelers to 9-8. Unfortunately it works like a laxative in the post-season.
