In hindsight, thought Steelers should have went 4-3 after losing to Rodgers/Packers in XLV, plus to better combat Brady in AFC. Brady's kryptonite was fast 4-3 D lines. Only Von Miller Broncos were exception to this trend.

Not sure Cam would have fit in a 4-3.

IDK the timing of all this for Boz, but he has a more valid excuse than Cam IMO, he is on the last year of his contract with no guarantees. Cam just signed a contract last year and this action apparently came out of no where to some correspondent.

This kind of reminds me of Franco when he was about to surpass Brown's record. He came into camp demanding more money, got shipped to Seattle, never broke the record and got surpassed by Peyton.

They usually negotiate extensions in camp during the last year so this is no big deal but rather business as usual

No where is there anything from Boswell

One person made it up and others copy cat

    This is just click bait

Football is a business for both owners and players. Not sure why people expect the players to live up to some high standard when the owners don't.

If Hayward is worth more to the steelers than his current contract, then shouldn't the owners pay him more proactively?? Why should Hayward go on strike to get the owners to pay him what the owners are willing to pay him to run their business??

At the end of the day, the owners will decide on the amount they're willing to pay Hayward, and that amount will be what the owners feel they should pay him to make business profit.

Speaking for myself I expect players to honor their contracts just like the owners do.

If players want their contract to go up then owners should have the right to make them go down.

    Its really that simple.

If these players think they are so underpaid, then start signing 1 year contracts.

    Supposedly Greensburg review says Cam's

agent told Steelers in February that if Cam made pro bowl
He would be coming back to negotiate?

Cam is being selfish and greedy complaining about not being a top 20 paid DT, I bet none of those guys are 36 years old like he is and he has made 130 million in his career. He's due to make 29 million in the next two years, let him sit out he doesn't help the team win playoff games anyway .

Honestly, both sides will agree to a new deal because I can't see either side allow the alternative to happen. It would take years to fix things between the parties.

I have nothing against Heyward, but I will bet money if one of those younger DL start to shine, he will be back out playing quickly.

I am probably late to the party here, but last year when Cam signed his extension it was for the years 2025 and 2026. 2024 was covered under his old contract.

Does this mean that Cam is trying to renegotiate a contract that he has not played a single snap on?

If Micah signs for $50 million, would it be OK for TJ Watt to start holding out because he wants a better deal, even though just like Cam, TJ has not played a single down on his extension?

Slippery Slope for the Rooney's as it could lead to a disaster where players are trying to renegotiate their contracts every year! Except of course when they have a bad year, then they will quietly take the team's money. :)

I'd argue it's already gotten out of hand. For both sides.

Not particularly happy with the way Cam is executing this, though.

He planned to do this from the moment he signed his contract. Trying to get paid on performance after the team drops the last five games, including an embarrassing defensive effort in the playoff game against BAL. I really hope the team does not reward this guy. Trade him.

There should always be claw back language in contracts so that teams get money back, including from guaranteed money, when a player decides he doesn't want to play or practice.

Bump him a $10M bonus. Puts him in the top 10 on that list.

He did have an all-pro season in 2024. He told them, according to the post above, he would come back to the table once he did that. Here he is. Pay him. Let's move forward.

It's a bad look for Heyward and it would set a bad precedent.

I agree. He had a good year last season but let’s not kid ourselves he is old and can fall off a cliff at anytime. He just got a deal last year he should honor it. He said sitting out regular season games is an option. Let him.

Aaron Rodgers came to the Steelers on the cheap, yet Cam out here whining like he can't live off making 14 million this year.
