Aaron Rodgers pre-season

8 quarters left. How many do you feel AR should play? The fear of injury is always there. Tomlin has to get him out there at some point. My guess is he starts in Carolina and gets pulled after first qtr.

I wonder if Brady played any pre-season in TB??

 

This is very likely he don't play one snap in the preseason according to some report....Brady had some action in the preseason with Tampa Bay

 

He’ll most certainly see some pre-season action, provided he don’t get injured during practice.

He made the mistake of not playing Ben enough

 

If he is going to play it will be this coming week against the Bucs but probably for only a series or 2. Very few starters play in pre season game #3.

 

Hopefully the whole offense gets a fair amount of work. I wouldn’t complain if they played the first half.

 

I'd hope he plays at least two series in the next PS game. I don't care if he plays at all outside of that. It would be a mistake for him to have zero game snaps prior to the season, even if he doesn't necessarily need them. He does need to develop some chemistry with Metcalf/Austin/Wilson/TE's and a couple of live series would probably do him some good.

I hope that Howard is healed by the Carolina game and plays essentially all game in that one. That would be the ideal situation for the last game. Get the starters their work in PS week 2, and then let the roster bubble players and young players battle it out the final week.

 

I'm on the fence about it honestly. So whichever happens, I'm good with it.

 

I think AR should play at least 1 full qtr in the upcoming game. Depending on how he plays I would suggest he play another couple series in the 3rd preseason game but only if he doesn’t look sharp the first time.

 

Preseason games are at least live hitting and full speed football. I don't know how many of our veterans really need those reps. I'm of the opinion if they don't participate in preseason scrimmages it's because the coaches didn't feel the need for it. That's good enough for me.

 

Timing and communication with the young offensive line is my only concern in this regard

With this said Ben wasn’t particularly good after a layoff and January to September is a long layoff

He started slow

If Rodgers doesn’t play I’m good with it

 

I'm not part of it at all so all I can really do is either trust the process, or complain about the process. Seems those in control don't care either way. So I'll trust them to do what they do.

 

I hope he doesn't play... I rather the team start slow than have AR injured even if chances are low. I want to go into the season as optimistic as possible.

I hope Aaron plays this week I would like to see him throw --While I'm at the game. If not its ok--- but I would like to see him play.

 

The only thing a few preseason reps does for a QB like Rogers is shake off some rust and look at timing.
You can do the same thing in practices.

 

You have a lot more faith in this coaching staff than I.

That's the thing. It doesn't matter how much faith you have in the coaching staff. You can love them or hate them. It just is what it is.

 

Roethlisberger was not very good in week 1 late in his career but this is the same thing for Rodgers since 2021
