We discussed this before it was likely because they didn't trust their secondary to play man to man, that won't be the case this season.

The sacks were down last year but I think they led the league in takeaways, I don't know if the coaching staff deserves credit or not.

They did lead the league in turnovers. Tied for 3rd in interceptions and way out in front on fumbles. Being that they practice taking the ball away it is in fact coaching. It’s not just dumb luck.

Yeah, Austin has been big on teaching about turnovers since he came to the Steelers.

From what I can tell from the parrots the coaching staff is incapable of doing anything so no credit is ever due for anything

OK now I’m convinced you actually are MT and I apologize for all the terrible things I have said about you.

From what I can tell from the Homers is the pathetic playoff drought is all on the players and the coaches have no blame at all.

Everyone in the organization deserves blame, but they also deserve credit for what they have done.
We have made the playoffs with an old Ben, a freaking Trubisky, a Pickett, a Fields, and a old Wilson.

    I ask this simple question......
Do you honestly believe that the Ravens, or the Bills would even have a winning season, let alone make the playoffs if their Qbs went down for more than a half of a season???
Hell....we seen what happened to the Ravens when Lamar went down for just 5 games in 2021....they came in 4th in the division, and had a losing season.
Why didnt they coach up their players to a winning season, and at least make the playoffs???
    I mean it's apparently simple.....right, right???
It was 4 years since Wilson made the playoffs before he got here ,same for Trubisky , we seen how many Playoffs Fields has been to before coming here,....so apparently someone on this staff can do something of coaching, that the rest I mentioned wasn't getting before.

In reality it’s a mix of coaching and players underperforming. I would say it’s more coaching because players change over time but the HC is consistent. As much as I dislike MT and his archaic approach it’s not all his fault.

I like the idea of getting together for games. I agree with willing the team to victory in close games. But ummm, you're holding hands? Interesting.

That defense was not loaded last year. Ogunjobi was not very good. We had a bad secondary as Sutton was a shell of himself and Jackson was a liability in coverage. As a result we played very vanilla and conservative partly because of the lack of trust ini our secondary.

Now there's a team that would be frustrating to play for, especailly a guy like Joe Burrows who is top 5 QB in the league.

Yup. It's amazing how many people claim to be fans but when you read some of the rubbish that gets posted both here and all over socials it gives you insight into what it would be like to be a casual fan. :lolol::roflmao:

Yeah, my son and I were talking about this the other day. The D could be something special this year, but they also need to not be as predictable as they've been accused of in recent history.

If they have another season of top level offense but miss the playoffs due to basement level defense, we may get to see some of that frustration surface.

The coaches deserve some blame, but I always put more on the players because they're the ones who are out there on the field. Some players know how to step up when it comes to the playoffs, we're still waiting for Heyward and Watt to do that .

Do the players on the other team 'step up' as well? Watt and Heyward may be victims of playing better competition in that case.

I don't see offenses being able to focus on stopping Watt at any point this season. We have added too many good pieces. If everyone holds up, we are gonna be really good.

For once... I wish a young CB, not drafted in early rounds would step up and be a solid starter. Steelers haven't experienced this since Ike Taylor. Steelers have been for the most part... blessed at WR and cursed at CB since the early 10's.

William 'pick 6' Gay was a fifth round pick.
