Max Starks will take over as color commentator for Pittsburgh Steelers radio broadcasts. The team announced Tuesday that the former Super Bowl-winning offensive lineman will take over in the role for Craig Wolfley, who died in March .

No Cope. No Tunch. No Wolf. No Savaran. No Hillgrove. It's just not the same.

Unfortunately true. I grew up to them. I think Max will do great, but he has massive shoes to fill.

Time moves on. I remember when Screamin’ Joe Tucker did play by play. Jack Fleming replaced him.
Did anyone know that Bill Cullen was a Steelers announcer in the 1930s before he left for New York City?

I barely remember him myself but he was good. He was sports director at one radio station and the broadcast rights went to another station. They let him go and we got Myron and Jack, and in a few short years the team got very good. We did ok there!

I use to turn TV sound down so I could listen to radio broadcast. Loved Cope. I've listened to current games at Steelers.com but it is behind the actual game. On the GDT someone will say TD and I'll still be at 3rd and goal on the radio.

I do understand the benefits of all this technology but I'm a firm believer at some point it is going to bite our species in the ass.

One thing is for sure. Tomlin will never be an announcer. He never says **** and when he does speak it is all twisted for your own interpretation.

Kinda off subject. I really enjoy post game radio coverage, however, I live in Louisville so don't listen to it much. I pretty much just watch the 4pm games rather than finding coverage on the internet.

If I go to a game in Pittsburgh or a Steelers game in Cincinnati I will listen to the Steelers or Bengals post game on the way home.

My question is, what post game show do you all listen to primarily in Pittsburgh? I may try and make a point to listen to it more this season.

    Thanks!

You do realize that is 7570 years in the future. I will probably be reincarnated 1500 times and that one will probably come back as a rock. If humans do still exist (which I doubt), they will be traveling between 700 planets at the speed of 20x speed of light.

The song was "In the Year 2525" by Zager and Evans back in 1969.
