Can you guess the Pirate?

I have not done one of these in a while. Here goes….

This Pirate, though it seems impossible,
1)was a teammate of both Ralph Kiner and Dave LaRoche, and
2)was briefly managed by Chuck Tanner.
3)He will be 100 years old if he makes it a little longer!

This one must be too hard. It is Elroy Face.
He was a teammate of Ralph Kiner as a rookie in 1953. In his last year, 1970, he pitched for the Hawaii Islanders, then the Angels AAA team, and was a teammate of a young Dave LaRoche. The manager was Chuck Tanner.

I remember Elroy well. He was great with blown saves before they were even a stat and then picking up the W in bottom of the 9th. His record setting 18-1 season was a testament to this as I recall from my playpen. Dr Strangeglove bailed him out often.
