Adding to this novel, doesn’t matter who we draft, this coaching staff is CLUELESS on developing players. Never, ever have I seen a team that drafts players and than plays them in positions they never played.

Teams are desperate for QBs it has nothing to do with the QB whisper Mike Tomlin.

 

just about done? from 2017 and 2020 he threw for more TD's then ever in his career. two 12-3 seasons. 2019 he was hurt. so no he wasn't quite done yet at that point. many things were going sideways at the end for this team by then. not just ben. age was creeping up on the whole team at that point. colbert made a mess of that transition at that time and was clinging to aged vets without a clear vision for this team. at that point a QB may have been wasted until they shored up a lot of positions.

kahn and weidl are trying to fix all of this. it's not an overnight fix either that many want. build the team and then bring a QB in to give them a fair shake of who they are. don't put it all on some young guy. that's just grounds for them to fail. just like they did with pickett. the team wasn't ready overall at that point i don't believe.

 

You blame the coaching staff for every playoff loss under Tomlin, but for Cowher you always have some excuse .

 

Cowher had his share of bad playoff losses notably the Chargers in 94 possibly the worst of all? However he was never as hopeless and pathetic as what Mike has turned into the last Decade.

 

Fields wasn't benched because he wasn't the starter.

At least he make the AFC title game several time,like 6 time in his 15 years career vs only 3 for Tomlin in his 18 years career and only 1 in the last 14 years.Also,the most awful thing,the steelers were down by at least 21 points in each of the last 6 playoffs game and I am sure this crush a NFL record by a lot!

 

I was very sad when he was gone after 2006....He had just need a franchise QB and the 2004 and 2005 season was magical.2006 was bad but the accidant of Ben was a huge factor and Cowher had not much the head for the football that year because his wife had a cancer unfortunately

But in 2004 and 2005,the steelers were 27-4 with Ben including the playoffs!

 

The AFC was weak back then I'm not impressed
