    He lives in Cincinnati and owned a few Popeye restaurants. Should have been inducted into cooperstown long ago. Now he will go in and not be there. He already had his speech written down.

    I guess people remember him more fondly now that he is gone. Great ballplayer, could carry an offense on his back, but I remember him as sullen, cranky, and often at odds with the team, the press, or teammates. Al Oliver was also like that, so that must have been 2/3 of one fun outfield. Stargell I think was not that way, at least I never heard of it.
    Can’t help but think that bad relations with the press could keep someone out of the HOF, for a while anyway.
    Does Oliver also belong? IDK. He must be close to having the most hits of anyone not in the HOF.
