You can't say since. I can make anyone look good , or bad using since, you must use what actually is, and what actually is , is Tomlin, and his team average over 10.5 win a year since he has been the HC. We aren't doing fantasy land what ifs.

You know I’m talking about Jackson :lolol:

Ben wasn’t exactly stacking playoff wins the second half of his career. You know it’s a team sport.

Jackson threw for 4,172 yards, 41 TD’s and only 4 interceptions last season. Ran for almost another 1,000. They were a Mark Andrews dropped pass from advancing in the playoffs. Yes, I’d forego Bens last 2 years to have a player of Jacksons caliber here.

You do know coaches are fired for lesser things than not winning a, yes A playoff game. But, all good never had a NON LOSING season.
Seriously, such a major drought in Pittsburgh sports. Steelers, Pens and Pirates. What ever happened to the City of Champions? I sure do miss those days!

I agree with almost everything you said except the offensive side of the ball. We still need another WR. I know Pickens was a problem but I would have kept him. Reason being is DK and Pickens would have made a very hard to guard duo. Now we’re left looking for someone to fill his shoes. They are not currently on the team. I mean maybe some guys have breakout years but you can’t count on that. If we add a good second receiver then I will completely agree with you.

I think the coaches need to be held accountable for the last 6 seasons. Yes, we have had winning seasons but it’s been to our detriment. We lose badly in the first round of the playoffs and we don’t get a top 10 draft pick which is of course where you usually get a stud QB.

Keith Butler on MT's coaching staff:

Not really what you want to read for a team that hasn't made progress in the post season in the last decade.

If you think MVP are a team awards,I hope you think the same thing about the SB

2023 was a weak year for the mvp race but last year was a very strong year....I mean,Allen was great but Jackson was robbed last season for the MVP...If the mvp was to the QB with the best record,Mahomes or Goff would win the MVP in 2024....The W-L record matter for the MVP but the stats matter big time too

Problem with the steelers, they are stuck in the middle since a long time ago....I mean Tomlin had great success early in his career but at some point, this is a time for a change and it could be great for the steelers and also for Tomlin, similar for Reid and the eagles.....If you stick with a player or coach for too long, this is not good and this is the difference right now between the eagles and the steelers

The eagles don't stick with bad players or bad coach(I talk about assistant too) for too long when this is obvious they are bad....The steelers stay with Canada,Butler and Austin for way too long....No way Canada would stay after 2021 if he would been with the eagles

It's the trend we should be worried about. It's a slow, almost imperceptible decline.....

    W-L% vs. Year.png

Now, if the team suddenly goes 12-5 this season the trend will be completely flat. So there's that going for us.

if we won that first playoff game we still wouldn't be in place to draft a stud QB.:cool:

Underrated comment. This coaching staff has been absolutely abysmal at developing players. FO can acquire all the talent in the world, but its all for naught if they never get better or regress while they're here. We've seen it way too much over the past almost 2 decades. That's Tomlins legacy along with his non-existent coaching tree.

Well, that and a buck 85 will get you a cup of coffee at waffle house. 10.5 wins per (regular) season means f*ck all with no postseason wins in damn near a decade.

I remember before the 2020 draft some former GM,medias and fans was talking about Hurts to the steelers if he was available as possibility...Of course it would not matter since no QB would been good in a Matt Canada offense,so if Hurts would been drafted with us,no super bowl and 250 millions contract for him

They were 2 ugly LJ turnovers away from beating Buffalo.

This is possible to win a playoff game even if the QB has mutiples turnovers. The problems with the drop and fumble of Andrews,it come in the fourth quarter at the worst possible time

Yup but it’s Jackson and he plays for our most hated rivals. Steeler fans would sooner dig their eyeball out with a spoon than admit he is a good QB.

Yes, it’s a hindsight discussion but that doesn’t change what they should have done and how teams should address the QB position when they have a franchise guy playing still.

The fans may not have been calling to draft LJ but I guarantee you he was on the Steelers radar, he’d have to be with Ben being 36.

And post season wins without a SB appearance means just as much f**k all, but somehow, some of you think that , somehow wins you something. I've searched the world over, and can't find what it wins anyone if You don't make the SB, I guess so some can brag....well we are the 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th best team, because once you make the playoffs, and don't make the SB, that really all You're arguing.

Yeah, Iike not making the playoffs..., not winning enough games to get there, but you know this, and yet you skipped it.
For the 500th time.....someone tell me a HC that has won a SB, and been to two, and has never had a losing season that has been fired. I keep asking this, and yet receive no answers....just a lot of moving the goal post.

First....I like how You skip the fumble, and the int that Lamar Jackson threw in that playoff game you are talking about....poor Mark Andrews.
To win what... I keep asking??? 3 playoff games in 8 years.. ..it's funny it's a a team sport, when people want it to be ,but not when they don't. It's also funny how the regular season doesn't matter to people, unless it does....for example.....Tomlin no losing season, and 10.5 wins a year average means nothing to some, but Lamar Jackson MVPs do, or the stats do. Makes no sense. You can't have it both ways... You just said you didn't care about Ben's 30 something td a few comments ago, and then turn around and give Lamar Jackson regular season stats. LoL
    Think about that.

Dude, I'm not chasing you down this rabbit hole. Tomlin will never sniff another SB if he can't avoid getting his pants pulled down with everyone laughing at him in the WC game. Has to start somewhere. Yes, unfortunately we all know your ridiculous stance on this as you post ad nauseum about it. Out.

Of course you aren't....because You have no real answers to what I said, I went through this with Cowher back in the day....I would say something, and others would just get mad, and now those people worship Cowher. You, Me, and everyone knows that winning enough game to get into the playoffs is what the regular season is about, and in the postseason, it's about winning enough games to make the SB. Nothing else.....winning a few playoff games and not making the SB is pointless, you know this, I know this, and everyone knows this, but because Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game for a while, the people that don't like him, well that all they got, so it is repeated, over, and over, and over, and over. Just like the people that say the regular season means nothing, and then turn around , and talk about regular season MVPs.....makes no sense.

Something that LJ fans like to forget.
It's funny how regular season means nothing to certain people.............
..unless talking about Lamar Jackson. LoL
