It's too bad Rodgers has some talent left. His mind left the league several years ago.

It's as simply as this, Smith has to allow Rodgers free reign on audibles. Rodgers has seen it all and done it all. If he feels the offense is his to run, he'll perform better than mindlessly handing off the ball on 3rd and five with the other team having little fear of a shrewd audible to WR on an island with so-so DB, or a TE running a seam route on a 3rd down blitz for a 25 yard catch and run gain.

If Smith holds his ground against an HOF QB, then Smith needs to be fired...MID-season
...or Tomlin needs to show some balls (rare occurence) and tell Smith Rodgers will be allowed to audible, but Smith can discuss with Rodgers why he audibled (what did he see), but not question the decision.

It will come down to the play of our offensive line if Aaron is successful or not.

The stats may back you, but remember, he and his offense were on the field alot. Couldn't be stopped, that skewd defensive production stats.

The AFC was always a distant second place talent/scheme-wise.

My memory of the Dolphins was a great QB, wide-open offense, WRs that meshed well with Marino and a solid, but under-sized defense, that wasn't ever asked to win games...until the AFC championships and SB...and they were shown to be quite mediocre.

The biggest issue was the mediocre AFC itself, masked a mediocre defense, they just out-scored teams whenever they needed.

Could be an issue with his TV in his room and an unwilling service repairwoman.

You know, the good ol days.

Well not quite that simple. Rodgers and the receivers need to be on the same page.

"....[Rodgers] No. 1 receiver is now DK Metcalf. In addition to being one of the best deep threats in the league, his ability to win on short routes and create after the catch fits exactly what Rodgers is seeking. However, Metcalf can ad-lib sometimes and get sloppy with his route running, and he isn’t always where his quarterback expects. Ask Geno Smith. If Metcalf takes his route a step or two too deep and Rodgers lets go of the ball early and throws an incomplete pass, we’ll see some ugly body language from both players. Metcalf is a physical freak, but he doesn’t have the natural feel for the game like Jordy Nelson or Adams.
Rodgers and Metcalf will make some spectacular plays together, but I can see them driving each other crazy on other plays. We’ll see how much chemistry they can develop in their time together in Pittsburgh."
