On a side note, getting really excited. Only negative about the upcoming draft is that I live in San Diego, so all I hear is Charger talk..... :lolol:

    NFL.com's 7 round mock.......

    1. Rhodes, CB, Florida St.
    2. Margus Hunt, DE, SMU
    3. Jamie Collins, OLB Southern Miss
    4. Lattimore, RB, South Car
    5. Nico Johnson, ILB, Bama
    6. John Simon, DE, Ohio St.
    6. Ryan Jensen, OL, CCU-Pueblo
    7. Miguel Maysonet, RB, Stony Brook

I like the draft, in a vacuum... but it ignores a lot of needs until late (or not at all).

No safeties or WR's? Those are both positions I could see us double dipping on but see none here. No RB until 7th?

...and I'm excited too, just want it to be Thursday.

For RB, you missed Lattimore in the 4th, even though he's got injury concerns. As for safeties, I agree, that's one place I'd like to see. But as long as they get one or the other (CB or S), I think that'll be a good start..

Those guys are delusional if they think John Simon will last until the 6th round. He'll go at the latest in the 4th.

I honestly haven't done much research on Rhodes because I haven't considered that we'd go CB early enough to take him. Considering the draft is pretty deep in rounds 2-4 and we can get some players at more urgent positions of need in those rounds, I think I'd be ok with Rhodes if he's there at #17 because he would seem to be BPA.

I'm not too big on Collins from what I've seen and not sure he's physical enough to succeed in our D. The Lattimore pick would be risky...I think we can get a guy that can contribute now. Rookie RBs have been tearing it up in the NFL so I say we grab a guy in the mid-rounds that we have confidence in to contribute from day 1. As for Simon, there is no way he's there in the 6th!!

As mentioned above, no safeties and no WRs is just completely unrealistic. We have 1 WR that is under contract past this season and I think it's likely we'll address WR twice in this draft.

Then do you like this one better?????

Walterfootball..... Still no WR by them either until the 5th.......

    1. Jarvis Jones, DE/OLB
    2. Kevin Minter, ILB
    3. Phillip Thomas, S
    4. John Simon, DE/OLB
    5. Josh Boyce, WR
    6. Malliciah Goodman, DE/DT
    6. Denard Robinson, RB/WR/QB
    7. Ryan Griffin, QB

Ugh, not enough coffee this morning, my bad. Then yes I like it better, but would still like to see a safety. Swap Vacarro for Rhodes and I'd really like it.

I love the 6, 6, 7 picks... but really don't like the top of this draft. Jones and Minter, yuck. Jim Wexell posted this recently that really made me go hmmmm...

Makes more sense to me. If we could get Jones and Minter 1 and 2 we've shored up our LB group for the next 5 to 7 years, much like we did with our OL last year. I like the pick of Boyce in the 5th and I think Denard Robinson would be a good choice in the 6th. I actually picked him in my mock draft in the 6th.

Lattimore by all accounts is close. I'd be very comfortable taking him and letting Dwyer and Redman carry the load until he's ready, then work him in slowly.

If we could get denard Robinson in the 6th I would be thrilled. This dude has randle el written all over him. Also would give us a true wildcat threat with a guy who can run just as well as he can pass.

I hope he runs ALOT better than he can pass :lolol:

I think Robinson is more RB than WR at this point... and more kick returner than either of those. He needs a ton of work if he's going to be a receiver. That being said I think Haley could find ways to get the ball in his hands.

The threat alone is all you need. Look at N. Korea are they going to fire their nukes probably not but the threat of it has the entire world on the edge of their seats.

maybe rhodes isn't going to be considered as a cb to us. maybe they have intentions of a FS with cb talent like golden is. would this give us a two for one picking him? then concentrate on a SS later. carnell moved back and forth as needed. it would have to be considered , i'd think.

I don't see the Steelers drafting a CB in round one don't like the Lattimore pick not sure he can play this season. They need help at safety and receiver also.

Okay, then let's combine this with the "Bold Prediction" thread, where someone thinks Tebow will be traded. Maybe it will be......
