    1. matt elam S. Fla............... i see a little troy in the kid. this position may have to play at some point with troy and clarks age and health. it could be for a starter at some point. that some point could very well be this season. i believe he is very coachable and football smart. he makes things happen on the field. thats my reasoning.

    2. le'veon bell RB Mich.St....... i think bell goes by rd.2. his quickness numbers are as good if not better then most backs. he's bigger to take some pounding but quicker then most think. we need a TD maker here.

    3. barrett jones C/G/T Ala....... barrett could fall to here with some luck. i don't think he's a good fit for everyone, but shame on them if he falls here.

    4. john simon OLB Oh.St........ i love simon and like jones, i don't think he's a fit for everyone. again with a little luck, and he's there, he's ours i think.

    5. josh boyce WR TCU......... i like boyce. he not big but he's not tiny by any means. i don't think he's set into the slot only. he's built well, runs good routes, has good hands and can move. he's a definate deep threat. what i really like is he's a good blocker. we need more of that for the run game. we miss that from hines.

    6. steve beauharnais ILB Rut....... very underated. he was a MLB in a 4-3. he's quick can stop the run and good in coverage. kaseem green got most the glory, but this kid can play.

    6. marcus cromartie CB Wisc....... trains with ike taylor. nuff said.

    7. ryan griffen QB Tul......... the kid's got a really good short and medium range passing game. he'll have plenty of time to learn.

there's my thinking on these picks. it's just a few days away and i'm still trying to figure which way they will go. they have a plan i'm sure that's better then ours. LOL

Matt Elam? Really? Wouldn't have figured that!:lolol:

It really is a solid mock that covers all bases. Not that long ago, I would have thought there would be 0% chance that Jones would fall to us at #48, but a whole slew of mocks I have read have him going in the 3rd round. Have people really forgot how big of a warrior this guy is? I would definitely take him at #48, but to get him in the 3rd round would really be a good coup.

I personally like Franklin a bit more at RB than Bell. Simon would be really good value if he fell to the 4th round, but I don't believe that will be the case. Too high of character and too much competitive spirit. I really like Cromartie in the 6th and like Griffin in 7th.

Well, I don't like the 1st and 2nd picks at all, which shouldn't be surprising to you if you've seen other opinions that I've posted. I also don't like taking a slot WR as our only pick at that position. We need an X. I agree with SC that the projected draft position for Jones as a 3rd rounder is puzzling. In my view, he will be one of those guys who actually goes earlier than the "experts" project. If he slips into the 50's, a playoff team at the end of the 2nd round will take him, even if they don't have an immediate need. I see at best a 5% chance that he makes it to pick #79. I also agree with SC on Simon. We'll have to take him in the 3rd or move on to plan B.

While I like Elam and think he's a 1st rder I'm not sure he's BPA @ 17. Bell would be a great pick-up. No way does Barrett make it to us in the 3rd. I like the last 3 picks.

I feel, as I've mentioned in other threads, that Simon is being over-rated here. He is just too slow off the snap and his ability to drop into coverage is questionable. Maybe I'm wrong and everyone else is right. We'll see in a few days what NFL teams think of him.

I don't think Elam will get drafted in the first round. I would rather take Bell in the third round.

i should have stuck to this one as the last. at least i have bell right and in the right round. great things to come from him. i like our stable of horses right now. let the comp. begin. this should be fun to watch.

boyce and wheaton are the same player. both can fly. both are the same Hgt. both are strong 20 rep range. both are good blockers as well as receivers. both can play slot,#2, and be a deep threat that pulls coverage from the others or else. very happy with the pick.

as far as #1, well we got one heck of a player. i hope the back holds out. i know all about what he has. time will tell.
