I knew he was the founder of Fed Ex and a multi billionaire but he had quite the military career. He was a captain in the Marines and earned a purple heart for his wounds in Viet Nam. President Lyndon Johnson awarded Smith the Silver Star for despite being wounded he went into heavy fire and pulled several from his squad to safety.

My uncle just passed away last week. Vietnam veteran. True Steelers fan and had a heart of gold. RIP to all of our heroes.
