You might want to take a look at Ramsey's contract before thinking about trading for him, Miami said they wouldn't eat any of his contract either FWIW. I would wait and see if Miami releases him because I don't see any team taking on that contract.

He is a post June trade which makes it a lot easier for both sides. Unless there is something I’m missing it looks like the acquiring team will take on about $10m for 2025 and will presumably view it as a one year rental or try to redo his deal if they want to keep him.

I was surprised the Dolphins gave him that deal last offseason at 30 years of age. Seems they have buyers regret now.

I fear the teams biggest need right now is a WR, and if we trade for a CB, it will mean that Khan will not trade for a WR.

If Dulac said it isn't happening then it's safe to go order your Jalen Ramsey Steelers jersey.

Dulac was the first one to report when Rodgers would actually sign with the Steelers.

I wouldn't worry about them trading for a CB.

I doubt the Steelers would be willing to pay him 10 million for 2025, they already gave Slay 10 million guaranteed for this season.

Normally I’d agree, but this is not a normal Steelers offseason. They have just signed a 41 year old first ballot HOF QB. It’s time to go all-in, otherwise what is the point?

They also look like they will have up to 11 picks going into the 2026 draft so draft capital is not an issue, neither is cap space.

I don’t know if they will trade for Ramsey but I fully expect them to make a few relatively significant moves before week 1.

The option bonus - it triggers at the end of August for $19M. It's prorated over five years ($3.8M per), but whichever team he's on when it triggers is responsible for the rest of it as well. So if he's cut after the season he could be declared a post-June 1st and the he accounts for $3.8M in 2026 and $11.4M in 2027.

It's possible the acquiring team would want to re-negotiate the contract as part of the trade agreement, too.

No, he was the first one to have his blind dart throw hit the target. He has gotten one thing wrong after another for years and never owns it when his false reports are proven wrong.

I think the price for WR are crazy stupid right now. Ain't no way I would give a second for olave. So I think that's why he's looking at CB because that is a big need. We have not only been trying to find a legit second, but our number 1 is just in the level above of being good. While WR we have an excellent WR (as long as this community knows how to handle his tantrums).

I think in order to get a deal done it will mean some compromise all around. Miami will have to bring forward some of that bonus or wait until after August to trade him, which obviously is not ideal for the acquiring team that will want him at training camp. Ramsey himself may also need to be flexible if he wants to move on.

A deal can always get done if all sides want it. Of course it could just be media chatter too. I don’t think the Steelers have said anything to suggest that they are in talks with Miami. I do think it makes sense and that he would fill a fairly big void in the defence.

Steelers need to get serious about the DB position. Here's a breakdown of Steelers last four drafts by round at the DB position compared to Philly:

    Steelers: 7th, 6th, 2nd, 7th
    Eagles: 2nd, 5th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

I think it goes to show how wrong things can go when you have a run of bad drafts focused too much upon need. Need is a part of draft strategy, but ideally you want to address most of your issues there through free agency.

slay, echols, elliott, thornhill, pierre, kent. plus some futures picks. added castro, bishop last year, d'shawn jamison, quindell johnson, cameron mccutcheon, kylar mcmichael, and have trice, killebrew, minkah, porter. it's not like we have nobody in the defensive backfield.

WR is the same way. we have a lot of players we need to see what they can do before we just keep having to add some superstar big signing because we have nobody. BS.

i think TE is still a need. we lost pruitt and then parham. sounds like galbreath is fighting injury as well.

nobody wants the process to play out. everyone wants us to be at the top on paper before we see what any of these guys can do. let them at least get to camp and find out what we have. every year these guys are in the system the better they should get. the cupboard isn't bare. we will draft again next year.

Ramsey still has some left in the tank wand could help the secondary, however he still is a head case, not as bad as Pickens but close enough to be wary.
