    I get that.

My answer, I thought so anyway, was about better career. When Aikman walked away, he was probably as satisfied as any. When Marino walked away, I bet there was some disappointment with how it went. AND, another part that separates these 2 is Aikman didn't start off at the top. He was a major part of building those championship teams. That's another accomplishment that has to be satisfying career-wise. I don't know why I keep feeling like I need to explain I'm talking overall picture with this, not comp% or most total yards or even most playoff games/victories. Just who had the better career overall.

I think Mason was seen more in the mentor role before ARod signed.

That I agree with. Without a doubt, Aikman had the more satisfying career. Would have won even more SB’s had the Jimmy Johnson Jerry Jones marriage stayed intact.

With the exception of all those concussions. Shortened his career and maybe his life.

So ah.....Lamar Jackson statistics with 2 regular seasons MVPs blows Ben Roethlisbergers away.....so by Your so called facts.....Lamar Jackson is a better Qb than Roethlisberger. LoL
Whatever. You can believe what you want.
I'd take Aikman, and Ben over Marino, and Lamar Jackson any freaking day of the week.
We see great teams all the time that can't get over the hump. If regular season means nothing for coaches....Like Marty S, and Tomlin, then it shouldn't mean anything for Marinos ,and Lamars

I could care less about what widely accepted.....the world is full of slow people.
It's widely accepted for years you would sail off the planet if You went too far. I have never been a person that is influenced by what is widely accepted.
By a lot of You people to Say Marino is better than Aikman is to say Lamar Jackson is better than Ben Roethlisberger, that is widely accepted by many in the media, with his two MVPs, but I'd take Ben over Lamar Jackson any freaking day, and do You know what the future Lamar Jackson lovers will say if He never makes, or wins a SB, they will try , and tell You how He never had a team around him, or a good coach. The same $hit they say about Marino.

Career is not over for Lamar and he need to be better in the playoffs. But peak for peak,Lamar has a better peak that Ben had and I love Ben.They are about the same tier right now career wise like top 20-25 QB of all-time

Marino had average team who was 10-6 at best after the 1985 season...The dolphins have never been a super bowl contender from 1986 to 1999.Even when they make the afc title game in 1992 with a 11-5 record they were nothing special. They were unable to stop the run in the playoffs

    Marino

    Ben
    Lamar

    Aikman

    Not even talking Super Bowls....

    AFC Championship victory count:

    Roethlisberger after 7 seasons- 3
    Jackson after 7 seasons- 0

True, but I still think the peak of Lamar is one of the best ever.Just look at the last season.Career wise,Ben still has the edge.Of course the biggest edge that Ben had over Lamar in those years was the playoffs

Winner, but like I said....people just look at those stats, and I guarantee if Lamar Jackson never wins a SB....we will hear how he never had a good team ,or a good HC, and we all know that's bull$hi+

I also like Aikman better, but I don’t care enough about the topic to bother debating it.

I don’t think there’s a QB in the past couple of decades who has been put in a better situation by his team to win it all than Lamar.

I liked when the reporter asked Rodgers if Howard had mentioned that he was three years old when Rodgers was drafted.

    Marino was far superior QB.

Aikman was surrounded by a far superior team, better lines, RBs, WRs, DBs...everything.

Aikman with Miami would have been a game-managing nothing-burger.

Marino with Dallas for most of the 90s would have won 3 or 4 Super Bowls, maybe more.

Aikman was a product of his team.

Marino WAS his team...unfortunately, and never had a defense worth a dang.

My brother and sister-in-law are huge, delusional Romo/Cowboys fans. They get mad when I point out that Aikman and Staubach were better QBs. Romo had some good teams that were capable of playoff wins... but Cowboys always found a way to choke. Hell... Danny White was better than Romo.

People can like who they want but you will never see Aikman in top 5 ranking, youd be hard pressed to find him top 10.

There's 3 CURRENT QBs that are hands down better than LJ: Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

Ben only had 2 better than him.... Brady and Manning. We could argue that Ben was a better playoff QB than Manning from 2004-2011.
