Will we get a repeat of last year when Khan said they like their group of receivers, and then they start the season with this same receiving core. You have Rodgers for likely only one year go get some more weapons on offense, teams will just use bracket coverage on Metcalf and load the box to stop the run.

Huge concern...It will be important that Wilson become a very good number 2 WR....

I like CA III, and want to see what he can do when he gets better utilized to match what he brings to the table.

CAIII may be a good slot receiver (3) but not a 2

I'd like to see Austin III utilized more. WR1 or 2 isn't limited to running the boundaries. Guys like St. Brown, Smith-Njaba, Reed, Allen, and McConkey all did most of their damage from the slot. Bigger guys like Evans and Adams are mixed into slot snaps as well.

I still think Wilson's size is fine as a Z. He's the same size as DJ. So it's not like Austin has to be lined up outside.

All the “coaches” here that are not in camp watching the WR’s that know better than the guy getting paid to be a coach. . . SMH

Which may be perfect for this offense. AR is not the gunslinger he was. He may just dink and dunk the opponents into submission. CAIII may be used the same way the Pats used Edleman

Well, we knew better than the coaches (and Khan) did about the WR group last year...

I don't think they will be looking to replace Pickens one for one, but they need to get better than what they have right now.

This is the same dumb thinking from the team that was satisfied with Jefferson as WR2, how did that work out?

    Nope

    Pickens had to go

    And that was his value

Thus has been cleared up repeatedly

Truth. In the three games Pickens was out Austin played <40% of snaps in two of them. He played 80% of snaps against Philly and went 5 for 5 for 65 yards. Not bad for a WR2, especially when you consider the slug Jefferson playing on the other side as no threat whatsoever.

As things stand today CA III is the #2, until they bring someone in, and then he isn’t any more.

They had Gabe Davis in for a visit and he wasn’t signed on medical grounds by all accounts.

I fully expect a veteran receiver to be added before the season starts.

Two names that I have heard brought up as potentially available are Christian Kirk and Romeo Dobbs. While very different players, I think either could be a low level but solid #2 and would really enhance the depth of the WR room.

Kirk signed with the Texans this offseason. I doubt he’s available.

So this is where I start back on the Omar thing.
The rumors out there are not without merit, those being that he is low balling. There's a bit of evidence to support that.
So the bargain bin shopping that this guy does, really rubs me the wrong way.
That doesn't mean go out there a spend away.
I'm not liking this guy and I wish some other team would make him an offer he can't refuse.

RE: Calvin Austin III, I think he will be an impact. I don't like him as number 2.
I like him as a slot kind of guy, you can move him all around and use him sort of like the way NE used those short guys.
Right now, I don't have anyone I would target.
I like Amari Toomer but he's on the wrong side of 30, I'd prefer one of the younger ones that might become available.
I don't trust Roman Wilson even though there have been some good reports on him. Best case, he exceeds expectations this summer.
