Steelers haven't been lucky since drafting AB in round 6.

Haley was a Rooney hire. Flores was just an assistant, Tomlin threw him a lifeline because of his situation.

Munchak was a great hire but he is the Oline coach. Tomlin is probably pretty hands off with that unit.

It's still nonsense to say Tomlin is worried about some other coach on staff will take his job.

Exactly how we were at one time with Polamalu. There was a time that we didn't win any g
That's all you got?? How many Moms does Tomlin have?? You can't use this for everyone that doesn't agree with you.

You are right on Polamalu too.It cost the 2009 season. The secondary was a true dumspter fire without him with so many fourth quarter collapse. It was just crazy. The raiders game was the rock bottom for this defense

I wouldn’t say thats the reason but he does have a habit of avoiding established coaches with few exceptions.

Munchak? The O line was good when he was O line coach. And O line has been terrible overall since he left... and after Pouncey and DeCastro retired and Villanueva went to the Ravens.

I don’t think so. I think he’s too hands on for established coordinators. Being a good head coach involves knowing when to step back and letting your guys cook.

That didn't stop Arthur Smith from coming to the Steelers he could've waited for a better opportunity .

Thats not what I said though. I’m talking about Tomlim, you can ignore his hiring habits all you want but its right there for us all to see.

We don’t know what conversations he and Smith had. After the Canada fiasco maybe he realized he needs to do things differently.

2024 Steelers had the 11th best 3rd down conversion percentage.

Actually a big improvement from the year before.

Many of the defensive woes were also due to the offense ToP sucking so bad. That has to improve this year. Otherwise it’s tired players doing tired plays.

So Haley wasn’t an established coordinator? Smith wasn’t an established coordinator?

The Steelers ranked 15th in TOP last year. They were first until they hit that gauntlet of good teams at the end of the season. They only had 20 minutes of possession in the game against the Eagles.

And some of that was the fault of the defense since they could not leave the field no matter what. How many time the opposing offense had very long drive against the steelers in the final 5 games?

It was brutal.I agree our offense deserve some blame for that, but same for the defense
