And the best Steelers defense since the 1970's.

The Steelers continue to disintegrate under the idiotic "leadership" of Mike Tomlin. The franchise is a laughingstock and has not been a championship contender for more than a decade. Will another decade be lost before the depressing era of Tomlin ends?

I made the mistake of looking for some NFL talk shows. Turned to this channel and heard a bunch of cackling and had to change the channel. When did the NFL determine that this is what football fans want?

Those defenses in the mid 90s were pretty good.

Agree.... Blitzburgh of the 90's and Big Nasty D of '01-'02 were good, but they didn't win any Super Bowls.

I had a Big Nasty D T-shirt during that time with Holmes, Porter, Gildon and Bell on it. :lolol:

Below is Rodgers last two full seasons averaged and ranked against 2024 QB stats. Also included Wilson's 2024 rankings for comparison. What is interesting is Rodgers has been virtually the same QB for GB and NYJ the last couple years.

So, if Rodgers can at least be his average self from the last couple of seasons, then the offense might be a little better. But it's not like night and day.

Father Time is undefeated. But it's worth mentioning that he played with a broken thumb from Week 5 on during his final season in Green Bay. And of course last year he was a 40 y/o guy coming off an Achilles tear.

Just the fact Rodgers can take snaps from under Center makes him an upgrade over Fields.
He can see over the OL when looking downfield upgrades him over Russ.
Even at 40+ he is better than Rudolph.

The lottery would be if Howard is an upgrade to Rodgers.

Didn't know about the thumb. But yea, at 40+ yrs old everything is felt and takes longer to heal. Looking over Roethlisberger's, Brees, Manning's, Favre's, and Brady's last season it's possible Rodgers only plays 13 or 14 games. Brady is the only QB to play 100% of games in his last season. Roethlisberger missed one.

So the Steelers knew Rodgers would be signing back in March. So much for the fan mantra of Rodgers screwing with the Steelers

Some of those 90, and early 2000s Defenses were better than the ones we won the SBs later with, the difference was we actually had a Qb later.

I seen one next to Bob Kidd lake , at about 3am one night while fishing. I wasn't the only one that did either. Well it was either a Bigfoot, or someone dressed like one that was hunting/wading through the shallow end.

    Mandatory OTA starts tomorrow...
No doubt the media will be climbing over themselves to find out more about Aaron.
    It's still "Football in Shorts"

I think it is a good time to get an initial walk though with the team and start dialing in what he can and cannot do.
I've heard good things about Roman Wilson so let's see if he can start developing that trust with Rogers.
The Receiving Coaches will be tasked with dialing in those routes to get them fast and precise.

Will Howard is doing some neat stuff in grabbing guys for extra reps.... that's initiative. I like.
Next up, draining knowledge from Rogers. Rogers might not voluntarily offer it, but that doesn't mean you can't absorb film and info from the OC to get it.
It's only 3 days but it is a start.
