I live around tons of Saints fans. There are still plenty of them that would rather Haener start over Rattler. Now with Shough in the mix, it's mostly a 3-way tie for the fans. When I answered the question I was only saying that I think Rudolph would be better than any of those 3 QBs. If we traded MR to the Saints I think he becomes the starter there. Not saying anybody 'sucks'. If you ever see me saying a player 'sucks' you have permission to call me out on it. I just don't do that, or try not to, ever.

No....there will be No true competition for the Qb position as soon as Rodgers signed, but let's not act like the other teams don't do the same. 97% of the time, on any team, the highest paid player, or most invested in like draft picks, gets the start automatically, unless injured, or they aren't exactly ready yet, but then its just a matter of time. I don't know why people think that is different here compared to everywhere else. All the teams do this.

You only say this because You actually believe it. I know , I remember You trying to argue that Trubisky was starting because He actually won the competition, and you, and everyone knows he started because they had brought him in, and paid Him the most that year, and yet some still didn't want to believe it, and He still has the worst record of any of the Qbs that have played since Ben left.
I myself believe there should always be competition for any spot, but I'm not paying the bills, and I know it's a business, and that's not how it works most of the time on any of the teams.....even though some like to believe it does.

Typically, I agree with this. It's just different with QB. With what Russ and ARod have accomplished in their careers it was their job to lose. No competition unless they just show no arm left in TC. There was no competition between Ben and Rudolph each year, that's my meaning. If Flacco is even close to what he was last season he's QB1 at this point in preseason. I 100% feel like I understand and agree with your point, but QB is just different. Outside of QB there is no entitlement. Earn your spot.

    If you say so

Doesn’t seem like something I would have said and at the time I don’t think I had thought about it

Stand by it if you did. Trubisky had a better track record going into that season and outplayed Rudolph and Pickett in the preseason. Rudolph had the worst numbers of the three quarterbacks in the preseason that year despite getting to play against scrubs. Of course, Trubisky turned out to be a disaster and I don't know why it matters at this point, but the numbers didn't back up STD's argument at the time, and they have not changed.
