    This.
No need to speculate on contract offers. The Jags are paying him $11.5M to play for someone else. If he signs with someone, it will be for a vet min contract, since it makes no difference to his wallet.

It is like what happened to Wilson last year. Denver paid him a massive amount even though he was cut. Steelers signed him to a vet min, and that money essentially went to Denver (offset what Denver was giving Wilson).

Normally a vested vet salary is guaranteed for the full season if on 53 man roster week 1. In the event his new team cuts him after week 1, I think the previous contract would prevail as the termination pay. Not sure though especially for salary cap purposes.

Former Bills WR: I was thinking the Patriots had released Diggs, and Mike Tomlin made a phone call. :)

Gabe Davis had 4 TD's in their 2022 playoff game against the Chiefs including what looked like the winning TD with 13 seconds left. But we all know what happened then.

That they gave up like Tomlin at the start of the post season?

As I understand, he has had a setback in his recovery.
He was injured somewhere around game 10 I think....
I don't think we would see him this season, at best towards the end.
So I am not sure this is a good signing even with the Jags paying him.

As I mentioned previously, he is a guy that can get open and can catch those 50/50 balls.

Diggs might be in some hot water now with his new team. There was a video going around with him holding a plastic bag with pink substance in it.

"It's something that we're aware of," Vrabel said when asked about the video of Diggs with the pink substance. "Obviously, we want to make great decisions on and off the field. … Any conversations that I've had with Stefon will remain between him, I and the club."

A long, long time ago, when I did age-group swimming, during all-day swim meets the parents would give us boxes of Jell-o as a snack. Basically put a wet finger into the powder, and get a lick of sugar (with a trace of salt and protein). Not exactly ideal competition food, in hindsight. Maybe Diggs swam as a kid and was feeling nostalgic.

I am still holding out hope for Pitts in the Tight End thread.

I think the Steelers Medical will have their hands full this year, after signing off on Pittsburgh's 1st round pick after he failed his physical at the NFL combine. :)

I was reading about other teams reaction to the Rodgers signing. The Redskins fans are worried that now the Steelers will go and find another weapon for Rodgers and their afraid it is Terry McLauren.

I doubt it will be. I don't think they want to dip into all those draft resources they have built up for next offseason and McLaurin won't be cheap in terms of trade compensation or the new contract he wants.

McClaurin + Metcalf would rank the Steelers in the top5 as far as WR corps are concerned.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to see it, but the Commanders would likely demand a big return, and if the Steelers got him, they might have to give McLaurin a contract similar to Metcalf's.
