Howard isn't on the same level as Burrow. That's a ridiculous comparison. Neither were Thompson/Martinez on the same level as Haskins/Barrett in college.

I said the same thing was asked why Burrow didn't beat out Barrett, and Haskins, and I said that Howard did very well against the teams he did face in the playoffs, and National Championship, and those he faced had many a great players on their teams.

 

Yeah Howard's style of play is a lot more fitting for the NFL than Barrett's or Haskins.

Again.....I didn't make any comparison of them as NFL players....I compared what they went through in college, and what was said.
Again, I said that's what people said about Burrow.

There is no comparison in my mind. 3 Qbs since I have been on this board I thought would be great in the NFL. Burrow, Stroud, and M. Jones.....I was bad wrong on Jones, but that isn't the point.....I was very high on Burrow, and I never compared Burrow to Howard as a player, only at their circumstance in college. Go back , and read again what I said.

I'm with you here. You weren't comparing Burrow and Howard (who would compare the 1OA pick and a 6th round guy....) but you were just saying that Burrow wasn't "the man" right away. He couldn't beat out Haskins or Barrett, and wasn't even that great in his first season at LSU. But he eventually was great (and had the best college season ever for a college QB imo in his senior year).

I hope we get to see Howard at some point this year. Mainly because that means he will have impressed to get the nod at any point during the season, but just to see what we have to work with. I would hate to have something good sitting on the bench only to have to trade half our draft next year to roll the dice on a different young QB. If Howard sucks (or projects as a back up), then we will know. If he's actually good, then we are better off drafting a WR or a CB in the first and building around winning with a solid young game manager in the same vein as Ben was early in his career.

I was always a Burrow guy. You can go back, and read way before He was coming out. Hell I have family that are LSU alumni.
Of course I may have misread what You were saying, and if so......I apologize.
Only 3 Qbs in the NFL I would like for freaking sure from other NFL teams. Burrow, Mahomes, and Stroud.....I would take any of the 3 in a minute.
I don't know if Howard will be good, and I'm not comparing him as a player to Burrow, only their circumstances in college. I thought Burrow would be great, and I don't have a clue about Howard.

I like Stroud, but I'd take Allen right now over him. He struggled a bit in his second year. Interested to see if he bounces back this year.
