    our thoughts and thanks for all who gave the ultimate for our country. the kickoff of the summer season as well. be safe out there and enjoy the day. thank you to all of our troops, first responders and all essential workers. smoke that brisket, cook them hot dogs and burgers but never forget.

    I respect what it is for but I really hate it. Our big golf courses jump to 100 a round just like that and the shorter ones I'm a member at get overrun with golfers. It is a huge change for the locals and when we see each other we say, "is it Labor day yet".

    I remember when Kennywood and South Park didn't open until Memorial Day weekend (happiest day(s) of the year for me as a youngster) and then closed Labor Day - the saddest day of year to me.

    I took my grandson to the Battleship Park in Mobile, AL today. Let him climb all over that ship. We went through the USS Drumm submarine end to end as well. Looked at lots of planes and other vehicles in the big building and around the grounds. Lots of fun. Lots of sun.

    Saturday was the coldest Memorial day Saturday on record at only 52°. No pools opened around here this weekend.
