What makes you think they need to trade a first for a WR? Dallas got Pickens for a third. The Steelers should do the same and offer nothing higher than a third in a trade for a WR.

Sure that’s it the media influenced all the scouts and GMs who watched him and his shortcomings

    Yeah right

And then you get a player equal to Pickens

    Otherwise your comment is illogical

Well, they're not seeking a WR1 what's wrong with getting a player equal to Pickens?

Actually, I wouldn't oppose a mid-round pick (R5ish) given for a good, proven WR2 on the last year of his contract. Unfortunately, it appears they think Woods is that guy. But a Jauan Jennings would be interesting. Maybe Romeo Dobbs. Thielen was banged up last year, but put up 100 receptions the year before.

They should be willing to give up one of their third-round picks for the right guy that has more than one year left on his deal, or offer a mid-round pick along with a late round pick.

If you wanted a player equal to Pickens for a third what would have been the point of getting rid of him

A player of Pickens’ caliber would only be available for a 3rd if he was also a cancer (or on a bloated contract).

The reason I went with a rental was if their thought is they want to develop/keep Wilson and/or Austin.

They could certainly make a bigger move to get a solid WR2 and let Wilson and Austin battle for the slot.

Doesn’t matter what this team does until MT quits or retires. He’s not ever sniffing another SB.

I'm not buying the Wilson hype of becoming WR2, he has a lot to prove this season.

I think if they do trade for a WR, it will likely be more of a WR3 and not a WR2.

No one is letting up a 1,000 yard WR, who averages a few TD each year, for a third.

Who's the upgrade? Not olave. Dude is two concussions away from my being able to know how to spell football.

And without concussions, he was around pickens numbers.

Well… if we trade Woods to ourselves for a 3rd, that would be a neat trick.
