also keep a coach who doesn't know how to put together a team to win in the post season.

I’m amazed people still can’t comprehend that the Steelers plan is to simply get to 500 year after year.

seriously, just think what Steelers SHOULD do to get to 500 every season and then all the moves make sense.

The trade with Seattle in March makes even less sense if they want to tank.

If the plan was to go all out to win, there would have been a major overhaul of the coaching staff. The OC/DC are average to below average at best. The head coach may be the most overrated in the history of the league,IMO. I understand that the Rooney's aren't the richest of owners, but they have to do better.

Lavarr and company talked about this on their show this morning. Doubtful this really comes up as banter in organization conversational, but the history of 'winning' certainly does give far more patience to some. Lavarr brought up Marvin Lewis as an example, my goodness to be thought of in the same capacity as the 'gals is so depressing, lol.

How can they compare a HC that never won a playoff game to a HC that has won 8 playoff games, and been to two SBs. What do they have in common besides more skin pigments???

Are they just playing spin the bottle to decide moves now?

Looks that way, it's been totally headscratching and random from the get-go.

It all started with "There's going to be changes" aaaannndddd there weren't any changes.

Fields out, Wilson out, but Rudolph back in? - Like what?

Trade for DKM, give him a ton of money, and then make that move pointless by trading away any threat opposite him?

And still no Rodgers, and don't draft a WR, when you know you're trading away Pickens...

What are they trying to do here?

Because there's no way this team is contending and it's not picking in the top 5 either.

    Pick a lane FFS.

Explain to me the math of 17 years , with 14 years above 500 equals the standard is 500 , or do people just like to say stuff???
That would be like me saying....I only date blondes, and in all reality I've only Dated 4 blondes out of the last 25 women I've went out with. Bad math is bad math.

    since 2018

    2018:9-6-1(after a 7-2-1 start)
    2019:8-8
2020:12-4(after a 11-0 start and 1 and done in the playoffs)
    2021:9-7-1
2022:9-8(They won their last 4 meaningless games to continue their streak)
2023:10-7(they won several games despite to be outplayed and outgained in yards almost every games for the first 3 months)
    2024:10-7(losing the last 5 games despite a 10-3 start)

I don't talk about what they have done 15-20 years ago, stop living in the past.

I talk about right now....They have a 3 game losing streak or more every years since 2018,they are mediocre since that time

Understandable, but the gist of the convo was more on the winning record keeping a guy around, and in today;s NFL it is becoming more irregular for guys to be kept if the success is not immediate.

I agree. The 'no losing season' thing is a brain worm in the Steelers organization.

The problem with their plan it is all well and good until they get punched in the face. Looking at the 2025 Steelers Offense, they are walking into a right hook.

I get the Steelers keep pulling out 9-8 or 8-8-1, but with the rotating QBs and this Head Coach, they will hit a 'Whammy'.

it's Rooney, he does not care about winning it all. He is comfortable with .500 and sneaking into the playoffs, thru the back door.....and then losing.

I think they’ll sign Aaron Rodger’s and they’ll either sign Amari Cooper or trade for someone with the third round pick they acquired.

If the season was starting tomorrow I think it would be absolutely fair to be very critical of the front office, but it’s not. There are other moves to be made and the roster today isn’t the roster that will take the field in week 1.

No franchise QB for that period (not counting Ben's injury filled late years) is the main culprit. Honestly, we needed one of those seasons to be 4-13. Hate to say it.

The way they played the WR room last year, and the QB and WR rooms this year gives me the WTFs.

I know. But if they haven’t learned a lesson from last season they never will.

Amari Cooper should be a viable receiver, or trade for Aiyuk, Pittman, Kirk or whoever. They need a possession receiver more than they need a downfield guy like Pickens

The offence hasn’t had an identity since Ben left and they are struggling to get the right fit at QB. It’s frustrating but I’ll continue to support the team

Tomlin IS a carbon-clone copy of Marvin Lewis if we're talking 2017- present.
